How much is this going to cost? I didn't see pricing. Let's look at what a current RTR spec 1 costs:

2024 MUSTANG RTR SPEC 1 - STARTING AT $11,495* ABOVE MUSTANG ECOBOOST

Would people actually buy this for the price of a the base GT?
To me, this checks out. The S550's HPP price was around the same as a base GT. If that's what they'll charge it wouldn't surprise me.

Should Ford charge that much? That's another topic of discussion. While I don't think they should, I also don't believe it would be unjustifiable.

For those of you still concerned about the livery, have a look at this post on FordAuthority. The Intense Lime Yellow color has finally been found in the wild on a GT Convertible and what I'm guessing is the RTR.

I had said some months ago in a thread talking about Intense Lime Yellow that I had seen a prototype in the color. It was this exact car - the Ecoboost you're seeing. I would be surprised if that was not the RTR.

I'm expecting that you should be able to order it in different colors - not in the livery you're seeing in the photos. It would be nonsensical otherwise.

When I first saw a photo of the RTR Eco-Boost...
You then went on to say "I thought it was a design disguise to cover up what it was going to look like in the real world. My bad!"

Which is exactly what it is... So you didn't read it.

Doesn't matter. Taking stickers and other design elements from a fancy model, sticking them on a lessor model to generate a unique one is disingenuous! So soon we forget; GM's Beach Boys inspired, State Specials of the 70s comes to mind.

So… ecoboost buyers get the performance pack taken away so it can be sold at a higher price as this thing? Blech!

ecoboost drivetrain… check
Mustang GT body… check
Some dark horse bits… check
Weird camo paint… check
Nasty looking nostril grille… check
(They literally took the one ugly part in the RTR catalog and made it prominent…smh)
Customer enthusiasm… nope

unbelievable the number of missteps going on at ford these days.

buy a standard ecoboost and customize it yourself. It'll end up looking and performing better at a fraction of the price.
