My Mustang is being built

Hello. I am brand new to this site, looks like there is a lot of great info you can get here. I have a question. So I ordered my new 2026 Mustang GT ON 4/8 and on 4/16 received an email from Ford saying the build date would be 6/22. I never received another email until yesterday, 5/31, which this one said my car is “still being built” but “unfortunately there is currently an unexpected delay.” So should I be glad that it is “still being built”, since the original build date was 6/22? I have no experience with this, so does anyone know what “unexpected delay” means? Thanks a lot

I ordered my Mustang back in December and received the same emails you did even the one, including that it was still being built, but there was a delay (no explanation but my guess is the delay was due to a part shortage). When it was all said and done. It did take three months (total) to be delivered and if you have access to the window sticker, it will contain the blend date. I believe that is when the car is going to be on the line.

One other thing. I had the Ford app loaded on my phone and one day It came up and said that the windshield washer fluid status was ‘good’….this lead me to believe that the car was moving down the line and had a heartbeat…ok, maybe it was just all the electronics was connected and WiFi was up.

On early orders of the 24 MY, people were getting "delay" emails after 45 days (every 45 days), there usually was no real delay, just a Ford auto email @ 45 days. It will likely be built on schedule... or that may change a week or two. If your tracker still has the same build date, it should still be on schedule.

And also Ford emailed me on 4/16 that my build date was 6/22. So the email they set me yesterday, 5/31 is exactly 45 days since the 4/16 email. So you are dead on correct

Being built is the short wait, the longer wait is when you receive the notice it has been built, as the delivery end is so long, as it is dependent on so many outside circumstances from the yard to the train transportation to the final destination yard to dealer delivery.....and of course you are excited and eager for delivery day to occure.....you still got a long wait, but worth every second of anticipation....best of luck.

We all go through it and hopefully it will be different for you, but just wanted to let you know what to expect.. Heck when I bought my 2014 Corvette waited almost a year and I had factory priority....so it happens. CHEERS

Yeah and I was on the Corvette C5 Factory Race Team, and Corvette Museum Lifetime Member and still it was what it was....it was well worth the wait, loved that car....hate the new C8 Corvettes as I say if I want a Ferrari I will buy a Ferrari....not a clone.
