I know that cars are sometimes selected at random for extend QA and regulatory compliance checks. Maybe an EPA emissions check?

Didn't I read that the early build quality checks identified body panel fitment issues, and valve issues on the V8's? Maybe it is being checked for valve quality...

Mine is eco and just came back from dearborn for engine check, had same dates as his for inspect. Was released for shipment Monday, now back at flat rock.

That’s interesting. Mine was built according to Ford Chat and this week I was told it was returned to the plant with no explanation. It has shown on tracker as "In production” since 6/8/2023

if this is the case, OP should see a piece of paper when the vehicle is dropped at the dealer stating that it was randomly selected and X miles were put on it. i've seen it a few times, mainly on Rangers
