Why not? That's normally how it works.

The problem is the Charger is closer to a Crown Vic than a Mustang.

True, but we haven't seen the mustang sedan yet. It could have a redesigned roofline to make it more practical, and appealing to groups like police fleets. The V8 chargers cops have are starting to get old. If Ford came out with a V8 design with comparable interior room to the chargers, I could see it appealing to some departments that want to get rid of their chargers.

99% of trucks have nothing in their beds and never see the "off road", so I don't get it. In the rare occasion that I need a truck about once every 10 years I'll just rent one from Lowe's for $30 a day.

My local Ford dealer said they have more people ordering superchargers for trucks with coyotes than mustangs.

My maverick is used as a truck more than basically any large truck I see, and it makes me chuckle. These modern massive trucks are just idiotic imo. They're so large, and so expensive, that they cease to be trucks.

By that, I mean you see these idiots who buy a 90k truck who don't want to load or haul anything because their truck is too nice. Or the truck is so high off the ground that doing any sort of truck stuff is a bitch.

It's so freaking easy to climb in the bed if my maverick, or reach over the side, insanely easy. Loading or unloading basically everything is effortless because it's low to the ground, not 15 ft in the air.

But these massive jacked up trucks, good luck lifting a bulky heavy ass wooden cabinet above your head to get it in the bed.

I understand the appeal of the raptor, basically every other large truck leaves me scratching my head lol.

I rode in a Maverick for the first time last week actually and thought, "Wow this truck is surprisingly practical. Why the hell would anyone need a anything bigger than this?"

Consumer Reports rated the Maverick higher than any other truck on the market (74), other than a Ridgeline (79) but Ridgelines are more expensive.

The ever popular F150 only rated at 67 and Silverado 1500 at 64.

Agreed diff segment but the same logic applies. Having a more practical version of a vehicle with a similar look feel and function of the purist version. There are some who can’t afford a mustang as an extra vehicle, but if it could double as a family hauler as well they could do it.

Not saying it work be a guaranteed winning strategy, but it’s a possibility which is why we’ve heard the rumors for so long

Wouldn’t really translate that well since the segment itself is a huge factor. That’s what I was getting at.

Umm aren’t you kind of throwing stones from a glass house?

From a practicality and usefulness standpoint I’d say Mustangs rank right up there with F250s

I had an F250 … used it to tow a travel trailer … sold trailer … sold F250 bought a Maverick but now am back into an F250 …

I work from home and don’t drive much but when we take road trips … combined with Home Depot runs …. I mean I guess a minivan would work too … but so would a Prius vs my Shelby if only looking at functionality

So the CT5 Blackwing and the Camaro are both on the same Alpha platform. I am just wondering what type of dimensions a coupe and sedan Mustang would have. The consensus seems to be to go lighter and perhaps smaller. Well maybe that's what I want! Not interested in bigger car than a Dark Horse. I just think it's hard to improve the Mustang while keeping the same formula. I like the handling variants GT350, Mach 1, and DH. But the base car has always just been a raw NA V8, RWD, manual. You can't just add power, make it lighter, and keep the price low, that isn't going to work. They really need to work some magic and create a dynamic line up so they can keep selling the car we all want. But the sedan and the hybrid variants need to appeal to the masses.

Also I was really thinking about the sales. Wondering why they aren't higher due to the Camaro and Charger being gone. But to be honest, if Mustangs were discontinued and the Camaro remained, I would not purchase one. It's a great car, just not for me.

Yeah the maverick has proven basically all the haters wrong. It's sold super well, it's had above average reliability from day one, it's the cheapest truck to own, maintain, and operate. It has a comparable payload to some full sized trucks like the f-150 raptor.

It's basically the most reliable, fuel efficient, best handling truck you can buy at the moment. Not perfect, the interior rattles at times, but I freaking love mine overall, got one of the first hybrids. Can't recommend the maverick enough.
