Manufacturing defect for ‘24 Mustang Coupes

To everyone with a 2024 Mustang Coupe on order:

Was on a walk in my neighborhood about 15 minutes ago when I saw that a guy had just picked up his 2024 Mustang GT convertible. Both of us are Ford employees with management lease vehicles, but he said something interesting when I asked him how he got his so early. He said that a large portion of the coupes have been put on hold for modification to the rear because of a defect. Only until these are fixed will they be shipped. So yes, looks like all of us coupe customers are in for a wait :/

I don't think this is true either. If so you could check if there was a hold on your vehicle.

I'm not sure what the hold up is. My blend date was 7/26 and its still sitting. There's got to be some other reason than "it's at the back of the lot".

Any insight to why convertibles seem to be being released ahead of coupes?

I mean, there have been numerous posts of people with coupes (me included) whose cars have shipped.

There may be a grain of truth to what the OP heard, but it's pretty clear we don't have the full story and thus it could be a nothingburger

They might have been built after the issue was corrected on the assembly line. Point is there are a lot that need to be fixed before they ship. You can both be right in your statements as they are not conducive of each other.

Regardless, THAT is what Ford needs to be communicating to us if so.

Stop with the "in production" hang BS and fake delivery windows that forever move the goal line.

So let’s figure out the earliest blend date of any coupe that has been delivered and we can narrow down which ones are being held. I suspect the ones being delivered had a blend date of sometime of mid to late July or later.
