Bought my gt two weeks ago ordered it in September it’s been 16 years since my last manual car and I am having so much fun, i’m glad we have American muscle you can shift manually. I would have considered the Corvette, but I didn’t want an automatic and I know they’re faster but I’m not racing. I am enjoying the car, manual muscle is visceral. I live in Sarasota fl and the traffic is terrible this time of year no problem with the shifting .

I have a manual GT too. I love it. No comparison to the Vette’s automatic. The transmission in the C8 is ridiculously fast shifting and precise.

Technically speaking, if you're driving s 10R80 in manual mode, you're manually shifting. As I've mentioned before, the days of rowing your own are coming to a close. A certain percentage of drivers won't like that fact, but there it is.

Not sure what you are trying to say here. I guess its great that a manual with a clutch is still a option for people who want one right?

Yes, but I'm of the opinion their availability is waning. As the numbers dwindle (and they are by any measure), manufacturers will cease supplying them at any cost.

Another reason to make the DH my last pony car and a keeper.
I could do a DCT with paddles, wife's C8 has one and it is pretty slick, but no way I would have a slushbox.

Have to totally agree, without the manual, the car loses it's appeal (to me), if all I could get was an auto I would be looking at different options all together, The manual allows me to be engaged with the car in a way that I truly enjoy.
Congrats on the new Mustang, hope you get to enjoy for many years

Take rate for the manual for the '24 Mustang GT and DH is 27% which is pretty good so I doubt its going away anytime soon

Yup because these kids today can't shift with a cell phone so they don't like it and these idiots can't learn to drive manual.

Yeah, uhhh no. Not even close, technically or otherwise. I have both and love ‘em both but there’s really no point of comparison.

I’m not suggesting one is better than the other, it’s nothing more than a preference. But driving a 10R80 in manual mode is pretty much what we did with a Turbo-HydraMatic back in 1967 when equipped with a Hurst His n’ Hers shifter, only more gears. Like it or not it’s not the same.

It is really not so much the shifting, though a driver does need to know what gear to use and when, it is really the clutch work that makes these automatic boys conk out where they can't even get going.
