I agree. I recently borrowed a VW Tiguan R Stage 2 444hp from my father. God, supposedly the cars weight is the same, but the Tiguan is much quicker, more agile and on top of that seems lighter. It is a bit ridiculous that an SUV with a 2 litre engine does 4s to 100 and 100-200 in about 9s. Yes I know there is a 4x4 in the Tiguan but in good conditions a Mustang like this should eat a Tiguan like this for breakfast.I've just watched this video and my gosh...this car is slow
The one in the video I posted is an eu manual. It's Auto or Manual?
Here 4s for 0-60mph.
Yes that’s embarrassing for a performance car costing £70k, especially for a Mustang which is supposed to be at home on a drag strip. The S550 Mustang GT in 2016 was half the price and faster. Yeah the auto is faster but no one really wants a computer figuring out 10 gears.I've just watched this video and my gosh...this car is slow
That fits the EU DH with AT I drove, it always stayed above corrected 5s which honestly is quite bad. Even my 18 EU Camaro did 4,3s as a manual...I've just watched this video and my gosh...this car is slow
Same power, 4wd and DSG box, why is it a surprise the Tiguan is fast?I agree. I recently borrowed a VW Tiguan R Stage 2 444hp from my father. 2016 Mustang half the price and faster? Well actually there is very little in it performance wise and 8 years of inflation, so not half the price either! Mustang V8 GT manual isn't £70k either.Yes that’s embarrassing for a performance car costing £70k, especially for a Mustang which is supposed to be at home on a drag strip. Be interesting to see how the Australian version does as Ford doesn’t sell them one that is restricted by the absurd EU regulations, unfortunately something we have to suffer in the UK.
There you go again.2016 Mustang half the price and faster? Well actually there is very little in it performance wise and 8 years of inflation, so not half the price either! Mustang V8 GT manual isn't £70k either.
Auto being faster shows the 'computer' knows better! I drive an auto and have no problems with the 'computer'.
Pretty sure the dyno test show the UK spec car is only missing a little bit of power at the top end, almost identical in the lower rev range. Plus torque is what matters and that is up on the newer car.
Not sure why the regulations are 'absurd', they are what they are and considering there are no other naturally aspirated V8's for sale in the UK new I would stop moaning!
'There I go again' - meaning? There you go again.
The video features a Dark Horse, priced around £70k, even with a manual transmission. An early S550 Mustang GT manual was about £35k, so £35k x 2 equals £70k.
It’s great that you have no issues with the automatic – fantastic. From my reading, around 80% of reviews recommend the manual instead. But I’m not here to debate transmissions - choose whatever suits you best. The Dark Horse manual does 0-60 in 5.2 seconds, while the S550 manual did it in 4.8 seconds. Since 4.8 seconds is faster than 5.2, this means the S550 is faster based on that metric.
Torque and horsepower are mathematically connected, and both matter. For performance cars, many would argue that the rate at which work is done is more crucial.
The regulations are ridiculous. They’ve restricted the potential of these V8 cars. Love to know the emissions of the Lamborghini Aventador V12.
For the second time, the video refers to a Dark Horse. The Dark Horse with a manual transmission is about £70k. An early S550 was faster to 60 and circa £35k. So £70k is about twice the price. So my original statement that an early S550 was half the price and faster on the 0-60 metric is correct. £35k is about £47k in today’s money, a base (slower) Mustang GT is about £8k more.'There I go again' - meaning?
Have you ever heard of inflation? Plus DH and 2016 GT are VERY different cars spec wise. If you compare manual GT from 2016 with current manual GT there is only about a £5k increase in real price, easily covered by the improved spec.
As regards auto v manual - erm, car reviews are not car buyers. Do you know the split of manual v auto Mustangs in the UK? - its about 50:50
The regulations are there for a reason, you may not like them, but that doesn't mean they are ridiculous per se - just your opinion.
Yes for the S650 they do, but if you look at the S550's on Autotrader they are about 50:50Ford decides what cars we get, so auto / manual split has been decided by them.
As for euro 6d/e it’s quite tame compared to Euro 7. Automatic speed limits are more of an issue then emissions regs that hurt powe
