Lol, there is a similar thread on the Mustang 6G forums. Same answer here as I said there.

Ford Explorer ST. Charge Pipes, Down Pipes, IC, Tune. You will feel like your 24 never left, but now you have 4 doors, a hatch, and can actually carry things comfortably! Baby and the wife in the back? NO WORRIES! By yourself and the rando wanna be fast roll up? NO WORRIES! Want to take that long winding curve to the on-ramp at speed? No (well, slight worry, drive within your limits!) but it CAN be done!

Explorer ST and call it a day.
This is the correct answer ....

Congrats!

Do you expect your family to continue to grow? If so, an SUV might make more sense so you're not flipping vehicles every couple of years.

I love riding, but with a baby depending on you may want to reconsider the CBR while you're at it. I'm not questioning your skill as a rider - just every other driver out there who is texting and having a Big Mac while not noticing motorcycles.

A '24 GMC Acadia is my "responsible" car and I love it. It's the biggest car in my fleet with the smallest engine. Makes me appreciate summer driving all the more!
35 - 40 years riding bikes for pleasure and work, and I'm still here. They are not death sentences.
I'd also rather accept the risks of riding a bike, than being turned into a crispy critter in an EV.

If you find a "Moar Door" Bronco, you will have space for kids and all the crap, and you WILL acquire a new obsession for mods.. just sayin. A 4 door sedan was our worst decision eventually. So we have 1 kid, and I am still trying to enjoy V8's after trading my 2004 GT with 10K on it for a 2010 Ford Edge.

That Edge was cool, but it had no pizzaz. So I get a 2013 Hemi-Charger AWD, this car was cool, I chopped off the mufflers and resonators, and yes it was a lease, but I traded it near the end of the lease, thanks to electrical issues, for a 2015 300S, (here is where the story makes sense), there were no more v8 in the 300 at the time, but it was a great car, best highway car ever for the ride.

Alas we once had to go to a wedding in NC, and by now we had 2 kids the Pack n Play fit in the trunk everything fit in the car at this time, we had basically a 1 year old and a 8-9 year old.

My wife buys a coffee cup at a touristy place in TN, we literally had nowhere to put the cup, trunk was organized and full, she may have put it by her feet for the remainder of the trip.. glove box full.. so in 2018(ish) it was time to fix this. I got a brand new 2018 Ford Edge Sport... I think it was my favorite car to daily ever, Turbos, heated and cooled seats etc. Most importantly we had space, the trunk was not a limiting factor. I am enjoying this fast re-telling of the events.

At 69,800 miles on the Edge which served us well, I found a left over 2024 BLS SAS on extreme discount. At this point, The older one can drive... his mom's old 2009 Focus 5spd to High School. He is soon off to college, Focus has 188K on it.

But the lesson here is with kids having an SUV type thing means you can atleast stuff a little more junk above the trunk.

TLDR: Do not buy a minivan your soul will be crushed mentally whether you like it or not after having a GT.

However as I advocate for a possible Bronco as a replacement, do not get a Sasquatch, you will cry about gas prices at night.

The good... you have an SUV/Truck and the top comes off

My point is Consider a Bronco.. Love your kids, and be ready for the next one.

Sorry for making a long one readers, his question stirred my memories.

First look at your finances! House payment, taxes, insurance, medical costs, etc. can bite into your dream car needs. Some of the vehicles mentioned above are big dollar items. I hope you have well over 6 figures rolling in the house to support these dreams. I was young once. Sometimes experience is an ugly teacher. Look at your budget! Most cars are money pits!!!

…but for happy reasons. Our first child will be born in about five months and, as we are prepping our lives for our new addition, I’m going to have to sell my 24 GT PP (we are keeping my wife’s ‘17 since it’s paid off and there is a loan on mine). Now that I’m starting to search the market I am wondering: What would you choose for a replacement car if you were having to buy a four-door vehicle?
Congrats on your first child. My recommendation would be get one of the safest family vehicles made today - Subaru Forester. May not be the most "eye appealing" vehicle out there, but they are one of the safest, if not the safest. Of the many jobs we have as parents.....keeping our children/family safe is paramount.
