My 2024 has issues connecting to CarPlay. It works most of the time but about 10-15% of the time when I start my car it either does not connect or connects but no sound. The only way to fix it is to completely shut off the car, and restart it. This has been an issue since I bought the car new.

Curious if anyone else has had the issue. If it’s a known issue or something I just need to ask the dealer about. The only reason I haven’t taken it to the dealer yet is there is no way to reproduce it, it just happens randomly.

Doesn't happen on mine.

Used to happen on my 2022 Ram then it just fixed itself. I would guess a software glitch somewhere. Maybe an update on the phone or radio fixed it. Just realized it hasn't done it in a long time since you brought this up.

Tough issue to troubleshoot. Make sure phone software and carplay are up to date.

You can use skip and volume down on steering wheel to reboot sync4
I sometimes have to reboot phone and turn off and back on wifi. Happens almost anytime I am connected to dashcam wifi or when I connect to my truck (not CarPlay sync 2 USB)
Does not happen when I connect to wife’s sync 3 expedition (USB)

Thank you. I didn’t know this was possible.

S650 Mustang Issues With CarPlay IMG_3096

I got this last night. Related to the F series truck software. Just got a software update a day or two ago. Happened when I was on CarPlay (Google Maps) and tapped the screen on the right that would typically take me to change music source. Played around with it and this would happen every time. Rebooted it and the problem went away. FWIW…. I always loose my back up lines when I reboot. They come back with a car restart.

Apple Carplay is known to be buggy. Android Auto has some occasional issues too. Its not a car thing, its the phone app and its connectivity with the infotainment. When my Android gets an update and I get in my car immediately after, Android Auto always glitches out.

Restarting the infotainment or phone will usually solve any glitches.

Apple car play and auxiliary gauges drive me nuts.. Apple car play works most of the time. When is doesn’t I either disconnect and start over or restart the car…The aux gauges is 50/50 and still haven’t been able to narrow down what to do and forget even looking at them .

What's happening with your auxiliary gauges?

Sometimes it will show boost sometimes it will default to show A/F. If it shows A/F, boost is not available when toggling through the gauges but VAC is available. If it takes a long time to load after hitting the “pony” button boost will show 50% of the time, if it loads immediately it will not be available and will go to A/F.. It doesnt matter how the car is started, Ford pass, remotely or in the car..For awhile it seemed to show boots when started by Ford pass.. but I later found out that wasn’t the issue. When boost is available it will go for a few starts and then disappear… I have the VAC gauge selected sometimes it will revert to show A/F .. I have learned to deal with it just go off the center vac/boost gauge if needed . But it still irritates me

Yes … I have the 3 showing in the pic checked. Sometimes A/F will be where boost is.. have boost selected on both 3 gauge view and 4. Even if I have Vac selected it will sometimes show A/F.. I have deleted all profiles and keys.. doesn’t matter ..

It's basically perfect in my Honda CR-V.

I *still* experience the same issues as OP. My quick fix is to do this on the car: I think its in settings, then phone or connection list, tap the carplay icon to disconnect my phone, then tap it again to reconnect it.

Streaming audio via carplay from a phone to a car isn't rocket science. There's no reason for bugs like this to continue to exist, especially with "premium" products like an iphone and with what ford charges for their cars now.
