Hi members, I noticed in several S550 Convertibles,a 2018 & a 2023 ,both 10 speed autos, that ,although they were fairly refined that there was a slight bit of a resonance vibration above 50 mph.It stayed the same even if put into neutral or other gears to alter the rpms. The resonance was a bit more noticeable on the overun.

I am considering buying a S650 Convertible but hoping the S650 is a bit smoother above 50mph. welcome any opinions as none are available for a test run.
Thank you for your responses.

I had a 2019 eco vert 10spd, and drove it on many long highway runs over 80mph with/without the top down, and never had anything but a smooth ride.

Yes. The S650 convertible is smooth on the highway.

My GT is a smooth highway cruiser. And if I’m not using cruise control and paying attention to the speedometer it’s too easy to be running 90mph unintentionally!

I find myself on long cruises enabling the Intelligent Speed Limiter...so I don't go to far over posted limit.

@Stangfan333 ..... my 2024 GT Premium convertible is rock solid and vibration free up to at least 80 mph. Test drive one they are very quiet and stable.

I had a 2019 PP premium mustang GT with A10 and magneride/active exhaust and I now have a 2024 PP premium with A10 and magneride/active exhaust.

Both are great cars. The 24 has a little edge in stability. Neither had vibration issues.
Ride above 50mph has no resonance at all.

I'm a newbie and could not find a good explanation of the Speed Limiter. I am wondering if this was engaging on my GT. It hasn't' happed in a while, but when I hit the gas at a low speed, the car would not pick up speed. I let up and tried again and then it would move.

My GT convertible has an intermittent subwoofer-type sound mostly at low speeds with top up and windows closed. I believe it's coming from the Active Noise Cancellation system. If it becomes too annoying, going to try disconnecting the ANC microphones. Otherwise excellent car. Interior much better than my 2017. My 2017 had a resonance at 60 MPH. There was a fix that added a counterweight to the differential housing, but I never installed it.

You will love the 650 more than the 550. I had a 23 vert and it had that slight vibration and shimy so to speak. My 24 veet although a PP with magride is very grounded and rides very smooth. It feels more connected and nimble and responsive.

Mine has no vibration or cowl shake. However I pulled the standard 2 point strut tower brace for a 3 point.

It’s been over two years since I sold our ‘16 GT. The two issues I had with the ‘16 was the front struts would porpoise the front end and the rear suspension had a lot of movement that was really noticeable when the top was up. BMR’s basic stop the hope fixed it. I don’t have any of those issues with the ‘24 with the same basic GT suspension. As far as road noise. The ‘24 has a new sound barrier underneath. But I can’t hear or remember a difference. In general, the ‘24 feels a little more refined than the ‘16 in ride quality. But, everything else feels the same. Other than cosmetic changes it’s still the same car.

I basically live on the highway with my S650 convertible and keep the top up due to the wind.
I have nothing to report on any resonance or vibration, and driving at 75mph I've reached 28.5mpg.
