If the alarm goes off, how long does it last?

I went to a hotel for Labor Day weekend and upon leaving in the morning and approaching my car, I noticed the alarm was going off.

I just don't know how long the alarm had been going off for.
I am wondering if the alarm went off during the night and just kept going all the way until the morning?

Do any of you know if the alarm system turns off after a certain amount of time after being activated?

When you say ‘noticed your alarm was going off’ - you saw it, or heard the horn ?
Asking because it’s fairly common for thieves to first cut the horn wires through the grille if achievable, which gives them more time before being noticed.

Yes, it was beeping.

When you say ‘noticed your alarm was going off’ - you saw it, or heard the horn ?
Asking because it’s fairly common for thieves to first cut the horn wires through the grille if achievable, which gives them more time before being noticed.

I heard the horn all the way from the 7th floor, once I got down I realized it was my car.

So Mustangs car alarm have a built-in timer or duration limit once the alarm activates?

I thought so, but i could be mistaking it for another car i read about

You could look in the manual:

If the anti-theft alarm is triggered, the
alarm horn sounds for 30 seconds and the
turn signals flash for 5 minutes.

Any further attempts to carry out one of
the above sounds the alarm again.

if you noticed the alarm was going off, someone could've set it off recently or you may have accidentally hit the panic button
