You're traveling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind; a journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. That's the signpost up ahead - your next stop, ............Mustang 7G. 😉

That’s right… I said it…. I HATE the style of this hood 😩

It just does not look…. Rawr a shit.
It looks neutered and that makes me sad.

What are some of the options out there that look a little more aggressive? What do you guys like?

I have zero experience with carbon fiber and painting. Can you paint carbon fiber parts like hood and fenders to match the car color?

Love my Mustang but I have to agree. My Challenger had a more aggressive hood.

Sorry to derail my thread about egos and old dudes in speedos with talk about hoods….

But I’ve decided on the cenvini 4” cowl.
UNLESS I can find more information on a gt500 style hood for the s650. Which looks like a vented cowl? How effective is this?

Does anyone have any numbers validating one or the other. Cowl vs vent vs vented cowl? Or is it kinda like the “hp gain” we are getting from removing the carbon traps on the s650, theoretical and not measurable?

How did we go from hoods to old, overweight Italian men wearing Speedo's on the beach and posing pouches? Old and confused in Northern Illinois. :headbang:
Someone asked the question. It's only polite, if disgusting, to answer it.

It just seems too many people have made a cult out of the Mustang. In America the Mustang is a cult classic. Last American Muscle car. Some people take things to far as if it's become their religion. Can't do this, that's a sin etc. I say set up your car to make yourself happy. Mustang has a glorious history, and was named after a famous WW2 fighter plane, as the plane was named after one of America's best horses the Mustang. In which in about five years I will own one.

For looks only.
Dead right. The world would be a less intersting place without dubious taste.
PS. Why did Ford never do the obvious and have a P51 model? Or even F82 seeing it has more than one seat?

Before I bought my GT I examined a 2017 GT350. It had a Cervini GT500 replica hood/with heat extractor vents on it; both components appeared to be of good quality fiber glass (sounded very solid on closure). Excellent fitment by who ever installed it. My only crtique was the balck paint they used on the vents was flaking badly (paint prep or application issue).

I also looked at the Cervini 4" cowl hood a few minutes ago. If it were me; I WOULD NOT go with a solid hood. Our hood vents are there to not only reduce lift at speed, but keep engine compartment temps down.

Good luck with what ever you choose!

man I was so wrong. I associated budgie with budget, and smugglers with loose cargo pants or basketball shorts. so I got the picture of the adolescent guy that hadn't quite got there yet trying to put on a show for the ladies and try to snag a prom date with a high-rise heavy wool hunting sock stuffed in his pants. like way over the top. neither of these are good though
It's an Aussie invention, and the motivation is the same.

Sorry you're so late to the party. You missed out on a lot of great cars and history. Im curious how your hate turned into loving one of the most controversial mustang generations ever. Especially since the S550 and S650 are so similar in looks. Are you a former Camaro person by chance?
This is the base wheel I believe. Hated the look on my 19

I had the rtr vent on and felt the cars dynamic change not massively but enough. The steeper vanes moved the airflow up the hood closer towards the windshield and the car felt floaty returned to the stock vent and it went away. Wasn't a massive difference but you can feel it if you listen to the car. Removing the whole vent will cause lift, how much i couldn't tell you but I'm guessing it will get unstable. These cars don't like their aerodynamics messed with.

The car was not named after the plane. That is an urban legend. It was named after the horse thus the first commercials and emblems on the car.
Some suggested naming it after the plane but were overruled. Ford wanted Cougar. There are photos of a prototype with a cougar emblem.
one of the engineers suggested Mustang and the rest is history.

I was aware of that. Cougar was the right name on the wrong car. But it was a bit close to Jaguar. Not that that matters since Jaguar has had sex reassignment and is now mostly pussy.....cat.

I believe the people around this forum believe the 5.0 is their God, and the 5.2 is the son and their savior. Talk down the 5.0 and the act up. Put down the 5.2 and they go insane. They make offerings to their God buy showering it with gifts of all kinds of parts which do a street car no good. Like a CAI on a stock car believing they'll receive phenomenal horse power.
Ms. Dude, that's right I said it... DUDE! You say you are from Burleson but you speak like you are from Wacko, ehem, I mean Waco!

You sadly mistaken passion for religion. We are an enthusiastic group to be sure but like some others have already said you really need to lighten up. You are contradicting yourself by taking YOUR agenda way too far.

Love it or leave it!

@Danish I get that you are not a fan of the stock hood. However, keep in mind form vs function. The hood was engineered for improved aero capabilities of the car. So while you may not fancy the look is it worth compromising the performance?
