@Yamazuki Just FYI, you don't need to update all those lines in the BCM. I was perusing through the Premium and GTD as builts earlier and I noticed none of them had all the options under 726-18-01 enabled. Only the last one, which is "Approach Detection_Vehicle Enable" needs to be changed to a 1.

I went through on my 100A Ecoboost tonight and performed the mods with this particular change and everything worked without issue. Thanks for putting this together.

I’d have to look again, but if I’m remembering correctly several of those were probably for the different driver memory slots and aren’t needed if your car doesn’t have the memory option.

It’s very possible that those are more of a variable option that gets changed based on what is saved in each of the memory slots.

My 600a dark horse does not have memory either. I simply found a vin for a 700a dark horse and compared any value related to approach lighting or detection in the as-built file between it and my car and made the changes accordingly.

Good find and glad this worked for you!

Gonna need to tweak some settings I think. I was toying with the approach tonight, the timeout is too short. Right about the time it finishes the headlight startup sequence, it turns back off. More homework is needed I think.

So I wanted to follow up on this, and save the knowledge for posterity lol.

I'm not sure how, but it seems that there must be a memory/MyKey option in these cars somewhere. I found out the other night only one of my keys trips the approach lighting. Again, mines a barebones 100A model, but apparently it's buried in there somewhere.

Yeah, that is kind of what I was suspecting when I was talking about the memory slots.

The owners manual talks about personal profiles which can be saved using the memory seat button if the vehicle is equipped with the memory option, and those personal profiles can be linked to a specific remote.

Personal Profiles Overview from Owners Manual
Linking a Personal Profile to a specific remote

The 726-18-01 address in the BCM programming is enabling/disabling Approach Detecting for:
x*xx xxxx xxxx Personal 1
xxx* xxxx xxxx Personal 2
xxxx x*xx xxxx Personal 3
xxxx xxx* xxxx Personal 4
xxxx xxxx x*xx Vehicle

Logic might suggest that simply enabling the Vehicle detection should work for a car without the memory function (like yours and mine), and apparently in your case it did for one remote; but logic doesn't seem to exist when it comes to a lot of this stuff! lol

I just went out to the garage, tested mine, and verified that the approach lighting does in fact work with both of my remotes, so I would probably try enabling all of the other options listed above at the 726-18-01 address in the BCM and see if that doesn't solve the issue of it not working with the 2nd remote.
Please keep me posted, I'll be really interested to know if that resolves the issue!

I'm sure at this point it will, but like you said, logic doesn't make sense here. I don't have any of the slots enabled, just the vehicle. lol

Side note, it doesn't appear that the tail light approach sequence works.

Lots of stuff to dive into here, but it's just too damn hot outside during the day to be sitting in the car without it running.

I'm not sure that there is a sequence for the taillights.
I replaced mine with the Form Lighting taillights and they have their own built in start up sequence. That is what plays on my car when the approach lighting is triggered.

I've seen a couple videos showing this tail light sequence now.

Hard to tell, but kind of looks the same as the form lighting sequence...

Hello,

I am new to this forum and also trying to set this up on my base 101A Ecoboost which doesn’t comes with Welcome Lighting. Would you happen to have a guide on how to do it on an Eco? I haven’t used Forscan before so I am not sure where to start. I’d assume the numbers showing on my Forscan would be different than the numbers OP posted since my car is not a GT.
Any help would be appreciated!

The procedure is the same. In Forscan you are changing the lines to match that of a different model car.

Per his guide, you just need to compare the current As Built configuration to the Forscan spreadsheet to verify which options your car currently has, so that you don't disable something else on accident.

Forscan can be a bit scary when you're first doing it, but as long as you download your AsBuilt data ahead of time, and backup the modules before you re-write them, you'll be fine.

The following video is not exactly a forscan instructional video, but it is the absolute first step in making approach lighting work and should give you some kind of idea of what you'll be getting into by attempting this procedure.

Awesome, thank you both! My OBD cable is arriving today so hopefully I can give it a try soon.
