I recently bought a 2025 mustang GT with molten magenta tri coat paint and I want to know how I can best preserve it. AT the moment I am using
“carnauba wash and wax” and apply it using micro fiber cloths. After a cloth is used it is not reused until it has been washed. I live in Eugene Oregon so we more less have a constant drizzle making dirty faster than one would think. I currently wash it about once a week. Anything I should do differently? The paint is so nice I'd be a fool to not do everything I can to keep it that way for as long as possible. I new to having a nice car so any advice is appreciated, thanks.

PPF is the ultimate solution.

That's got a super-high cost of entry, so it's probably not immediately viable. I personally just wash and dry by hand once a week when it's warmer outside, and that kept my paint looking pretty mint.

I go through a touchless with undercarriage in the winter more often. I'm aware that the chemicals are much harsher, but I'm not sure it's better to try and wash by hand in sub-zero Fahrenheit weather or leave the salt caked on the car...

All that said, I'm probably not the most qualified person to answer this question, but my general philosophy is to treat it like you would any high(er) class sports car and you should be fine.

There is so much info on this. Some people are super picky. Basic wash one should use a super lubricating nutral PH soap with a two bucket method. Dry using a blower. Use a high quality detail spray with high end mirofiber towel for touch up. This is strickly basic as there are much more involved ways also. The less you touch your paint the less swirls you will get.

There is no right or wrong way to wash a car, but some methods and tools are better than others from an end result and ease of use point of view. It just depends on whether this is something you enjoy doing, or something that just needs to be done.

Below are two threads to have a look at. I'm not suggesting you need to do or buy everything in those links, but it should give you a basic guide to follow, which you can pick and choose which will suit your needs, time and desired level of involvement.

Years ago at work, my boss asked me "how do you keep your car looking so good?" I replied, "I wash it often. "

Magic compounds and treatments are fine if you like that kind of stuff, but to me it's the basics of keeping it clean and a decent coat of wax. Frequent washing will remove the wax, so you'll end up reapplying it often, but it's really not that big of a deal.

If I may suggest, sounds like the car is parked outside. Bring it to a professional detailer and get a ceramic coat put on the car, which you could do yourself. To really protect the cars original paint you could have a thin, transparent, protective layer applied over a car's paint—is most commonly called Paint Protection Film (often abbreviated as PPF). I have used Xpel.

Ceramic coating and PPF on vulnerable areas worked out cost effective for me. About $NZ2200.
I got over washing, waxing buffing, etc, etc, now it's just wash and dry.
