How does the car calculate MPG?

19x16 is not 265

Ah, as in why does 20.9 * 16 = 334.4 but 53 * 4 only equals 212?

It’s my understanding the ‘average’ is based upon last 30 +/- miles traveled and the progress bar shows instant.

I rest trip A and have been using that. It has been through 3 fill ups and since mid fill up 1 the reading was 19mpg. After each of the 2 next fill ups the to empty was 265. Still reading 19 mpg. It appears that it is only accounting for 14 gallons.

Yeah, MPG is just your immediate drive. If you're going a couple miles down an empty road, it'll be 30+ mpg - right up until you get stuck in traffic. If I was only doing highway driving, I'd get a GT in a heartbeat. Ecoboost can do 24+ mpg in city traffic, and 45+ mpg on a backroad.

Haha I haven’t seen 24 city in my Ecoboost yet. More like 15!

I know on the 15-17 models and maybe up to 2023 you could adjust it in the settings to get it more accurate. There was a link in Mustang6.

It's getting better, now it says 18.9mpg and 269 miles to empty.
