How do I unhook the dampener on my 2024 glove box

Watched all sorts of YouTube videos. Anybody knows the trick I'd love to hear it. Depending on the video you watch they say bullet toward you push it in push it back but it doesn't seem like any of that.

What, you have a glove box dampener? I have never heard of it. Can you provide pictures?

Push up on the swivel point and it will come right out.

Once you pop out the damper just press in the two tabs on each side and then l let it drop all the way down and you can remove it.

I can almost assure you what will happen even if you follow the rules. There is a little gear of sorts, which rides in a carrier. The funny looking rod (shown above which snaps off and on, hopefully??) rides through the gear carrier. Mine fell off, dropped behind the rocker panel. The retrieve it, required removing about 5 pieces of trim. I said to hell with it. After all, who cares if the glove box door opens like a damped toilet seat??
