You might recall I've mentioned the Focus RS I owned and traded in on my GT. I still hang out in our RS forum besides here. Saw this shocking post of a deadly force assault on one of our Canadian forum members this AM.

Some homeless person attacked Johnny yesterday by throwing a cricket bat at him at close range. Fortunately; Johnny had seen the attack coming and had already started his RS moving, so instead of the bat impacting the drivers window it hit the drivers side rear door window. Exploding glass all over Johnny and the interior. Johnny sustained no, or minor injuries; stopped for a moment; considered his response options then drove home and contacted the police.

🤬 And I though deer and turkey encounters were dangerous in my area! WTF?!

There is something to be said for living in a "stand your ground" state.

So you'll shoot mentally ill homeless guy because he threw a cricket bat at your car? A window isnt worth a life. Thats what insurance is for.

As a Canadian member. I will tell you the police will not do a thing. Homeless in Vancouver are treated like special citizens who can do what everything they want with no consequences. Instead of getting them off the streets they just lowered the speed limit to 10 mph so you don't hit one wondering down the middle of the road hallucinating.

No, it is not.
Nor should it be; but anyone who isn't willing to defend their own life probably shouldn't expect anyone else to do it for them. Defund the police, take everyone's guns away, separate church and state, God has no place in our society; but what's the first thing those advocating for these things do when they get into trouble? Call a man with a gun and pray he gets there in time. Chances are, he won't. Call the police, then order food and see which one gets there first. 😞

My apologies if this borderlines on too political for the forum and will remove my post if a moderator has any issues with it.

Yikes. Im not sure what ANY of that has to do with a busted window or this story. Lets not turn this into a defunding the police or a religious gun conversation please. Waaaay too political.

To a busted window or this story, not much. Unfortunately, it is the direction that the majority of the posts on this thread so far were headed towards. Yours included. Fact of the matter is, this same mentally ill homeless person could very easily have a history of violence and/or been self medicating on any number of drugs; and had the opportunity presented itself, this story could have ended very differently. That is what I believe @Neggytive was eluding to. Things just went sideways from there.

Please don't get me wrong. I'm not arguing that anyone else's viewpoint is right or wrong, it's just the world as I see it. And for whatever it's worth, I'm not the one that brought it up, I'm simply responding to what's already been said. I'm sorry if I offended you.

Pretty easy taking a life, huh?

I like to disassemble things.
Good thing there was no baby in the backseat. Glad nobody got hurt.

These are your words. None of those things we're brought up prior to your post. And no, the conversation was not going there. So dont say you're responding to the things me or anyone else said. The title of the thread literally says no politics. You blew threw that stop sign and went straight to fox news. Im pretty sure thats not what the OP intended when he started this.
