I want to have a few words with you. I love the Mustang and look forward to my new one coming in. But really! A full year from ordered to receiving. It is bad enough that I am buying a high priced extravagance, but the wait has gotten longer every time I have ordered one.
And let's not forget the outrageous price increase even few months. To add insult to injury, Just about the time I am to receive my car that I have waited so patiently for, you start to put out incentives that look good, but in the fine print are not available to cars that have been ordered. Especially galling is the veterans discount. Why should a veteran not get a discount because they ordered a car to their specifications? Most businesses offer 5-10% discount to veterans and you wriggle out of less than 2%.
And let's discuss the unavailability to get desired options without it being part of a very expensive package or require an option not desired. I would love to have MagRide, but it is not offered without the Performance Package. MagRide is great, even for those who no longer track their cars and many of the roads I go on, have dips and speed bumps that are not compatible with the Performance Pack. It would be great on a long distance cruiser with the interstates chewed up by the heavy truck traffic. I have no issue with paying the additional price for MagRide, just don't want the Performance Pack.
Finally, think about making a smaller Mustang along with the traditional model. Something about the size of the old Capri. It does not need to have a V8. It would be better suited for the European market, and may even be suited for a hybrid model. If you can make the Mach E a Mustang, then surely there could be room for a smaller car that could compete with other small sport drivers. Rant over.
