Not a big fan of the big heat extractor vent in the middle of the hood. I was thinking of painting/wrapping it the same color as the car.

Is that part removable? It seems to be the case from the few shots I found in youtube videos

I would say yes, RTR offers a direct replacement that says:

"Simply remove the stock vent and effortlessly install the RTR Hood Vent in its place, bringing an instant upgrade to your Mustang's appearance."

Nice thanks! I might buy an aftermarket one to mod then, and keep the OEM stock on the side just in case

Doesn't look all that much different than stock? What are the differences?
The angles of the vents are more aggressive allowing for more air exchange. Also has 4 working vent ridges as opposed to just 3 plus a wind bar at the front.

The openings look to be covered over like rear facing scoops as opposed to the more open ones stock. The first slat is a full one stock, RTR's first slat is split like the rest. The RTR version also looks to be set slightly deeper into the hood. RTR one is also Matte Back as opposed the the stock Gloss Black. Lastly, $199.99 vs. free for the stock one, LOL!

Pros and cons to both maybe, but not big ones, except the price. Can't see $200 in that at all, and how long before other have something better looking that costs less?

Agreed! Unfortunately, that seems to be a trend for many of the plastic pieces that are on the market today. RTR is first and they believe that people will pay because it is an RTR part that probably cost them $20.00 to make.
