Could somebody elaborate here on what is going on?

I am feeling more confused by the explanations.

Is the GT ESE different from the Ecoboost ESE?

I would like some very basic, detailed explanations of what the car is doing, if anybody can do that.
Sorry if I'm confusing you. I posted my understanding based on what I've read here. I would also appreciate if someone could explain it like we're 5 lol. All the technical jargon is very confusing. Most people here don't use or understand Forscan.

Go to that motorcraft website, enter your VIN and once you see the very long table on the website, search for the line 720-01-01 and post the complete line here.

You do not need to download the file.
Just realized you said to search 720-01-01, but circled another line.

This is mine -

727-01-01 is the line to look at, as shown in my screenshot.
I corrected my typo.
The first value in the third column needs to be set to zero, then ESE is turned off.

Have someone change the D to a 0 (zero) and you're done.

This looks like it may be way easier than I thought when I first started asking all of these questions. I have been reading in the Forscan section here and watching YouTube (the repository of all human knowledge, lol).

The biggest hurdle is I am a MacBook user, lol, or I probably would have ordered a Forscan cable off of the internet already.

Oh! Glad I did not change it already. It might have turned off my electronic speed limiter or something . . .

😆

That means ESE is turned on in your Mustang.
Do you have the B&O system?
Have someone change the D to a 0 (zero) and you're done.
But he posted line 720-01-01. Did you not just say thats the wrong line?

Ok, here it is, CORRECT line, no 0 there (but no D), so it is activated.

The first value in the third column is a 1.

ESE Activated (although probably not in Top Fuel Nitromethane sound effect mode, maybe Mario Kart sound effect mode).

Must turn to 0 and see difference, but, well, not sure about purchasing a PC laptop just for this.

Yes, wrong line.

You already went to the correct line in post #77, and he has edited his prior post to correct the typo.

Yours is a "1," too, so your ESE is activated. Maybe in Honda Civic with Glass Packs Mode. Blap! Blap! (Sam Kinison standup routine reference)

Based upon wiring diagrams and vehicle programming. There is no file generation... the sounds added are just tones... nothing changes (with ESE) when the exhaust is modified.
Wouldn’t that mean the modified exhaust (real noise) would either conflict or be evident with each modification? Since it doesn’t change it would stick out like a sore thumb.

how does quiet mode work?

How does quiet mode work?
Quiet mode physically closes two of the 4 muffler (paths) directing the complete flow through the more dampening mufflers.
So whatever ESE does inside (I cannot check anymore), outside it is way more quiet.
Strange enough: at low RPM/idle it sounds more V8 than in other modes.
I can tell as I have my car in a large underground garage and drive out with top down often in summer, depending on the time in quiet or in normal.
