I have a manual GT premium with the brembo brake upgrade. Was wondering if anyone has had any issues traking their GT.

My old 2018 GT with upgraded calipers never had any issues and I'm looking at tracking my S650 sometime next year. Hoping I'll just need pads and fluid to get started.

Just do it!!!! :like:

Have fun.

I am sure it will be fine and do well. I would bet your pads and fluid are already good enough to have an enjoyable track day.

Why not? It may not be the optimal set-up, but it will be just fine to play around with for a day or weekend on the track. The brakes are the most important thing after all.

I'm mostly concerned about cooling issues with the standadd GT not having oil or diff coolers or brake ducts.

Never had a major issue on my 2018 base GT when running 15-20 minute sessions with 220 tread wear tires.

Well, the PP cars don't have diff coolers either. I'd be more concerned about trans if its an auto. Otherwise you will be fine. Let the car cool between sessions and enjoy.

You can display your oil, transmission, and diff temperatures on the dashboard as you are doing your run to give you peace of mind.

I would also bet that 99% of the cars running HPDE Track Days have no brake cooling ducts.

No worries.

I don't believe non PP GTs have diff temp sensors.

Ok, well, I have a Dark Horse, so I did not know that. Nevertheless, I would track a car for HPDE days without any differential cooler or temperature sensors. I bet the vast majority of cars at HPDE days do not have these things. I do not really see that as an issue.

Actually I don't even know if PPs GT have diff temp sensors since they don't have coolers.

But I'm with you though. It's nice to have but not necessary for a track day.

You should be good to go for a fun track day. Rest and cool car in between sessions, change oil after excitement is all done. It will hold up fine.
I have seen just as many "track ready" cars broken down as "street ready" cars at track days so just enjoy yourself!

Well, I finally took my non PP S650 GT Premium to the track. Unfortunately, it was underwhelming.

Oil temps hit yellow on lap 3 on Autobahn full today and the car was limited to 6,500 rpm. Was disappointing to see the car stop accelerating in 3rd at 90 mph. Didn't seem to have this issue with my base S550 GT.

I guess I'll need to look into an oil cooler or upgrade to a Dark Horse.

Car is stock besides G-Loc R12/R10 brake pads, Brembo Package, Goodyear Supercar 3 tires.

Temps were in the 80s, damp and humid conditions. Manual Transmission.

I did one track day in my non PP S550. Temps were in the high 80s. In the 3rd session I experienced some brake fade. I had upgraded to PP Brembos but was running street pads. My cylinder head temps were over 240 but didn't get quite high enough for limits or limp mode.

The S650s do seem to have more difficulty staying cool. I'm glad mine is a performance pack. I probably won't track it more than once or twice a year, though.

What oil and trans temps did you actually see?

I want to say the oil temp got up to 270F or so.
Wow thanks for sharing. Im not shocked given there is no auxiliary cooler, but thats very disappointing after only 3 laps. It seems the S650 definitely gets hotter quicker than the S550. 😕

The good news is adding an auxiliary cooler can be done. Or if you really have the track bug you could trade up to a GT with the PP and get the extra cooling that way. The problem is I've heard story's of PP and DH cars getting hot on the track too.
