Has anyone run a Uniden R8 through the mirror mounted USB port?

Just get a wire tap and use the rain sensor. Easy peasy. Have my R8 on a Blendmount and using the tap.

I tried it but it wouldn't turn on, not enough power. U need the hardwire kit to run into the rear view mirror and plug into connector
