Has anyone removed their hood decals? How? What did you replace with?

One of the things I LOVE about my S550 are the racing stripes; an homage to days gone by (see below)

Has anyone taken the Dark Horse vinyl off and put something else there?

If so, how? What didyou do to remove them?
What did you put in it's place?

I can't say I have but it should be as easy as warming it up, getting good hold of a corner and lifting off slowly. I'm going the other direction. I'm working with Anchor Room to design vinyl stripes that mimic the Dark Horse painted stripes. Meeting with them Monday afternoon! Love the pic tho!

I've seen some straight GT with the racing stripes and I really dig it. My DH, assuming Ford doesn't force me to cancel my order by delaying it, has the vinyl kit but i"m just not convinced its "me" you know?

I'm curious to see what you came up with!?

If you are looking at having alternative stripes installed, I would just have the shop remove the old ones. A good shop can do this in their sleep. Just my opinion.

Yes, I have been debating this; I kind of superstitious in that regard.

Ford should have offered a stripe delete option. A win for Ford and customer. I deleted my rear spoiler as I prefer a clean look.

Speaking of a delete option, my GT had a no charge spoiler delete option listed. Was there an option to not have the spoiler deleted? Just curious.

If you selected the spoiler delete it would eliminate the spoiler. If you didn't select that option the spoiler would come if the package(performance package) had the spoiler.

Superstitious, like you don't name or rename a boat, without a proper ceremony. I understand that. I hope the guy I sold my boat to does it properly. It won't affect me, if he doesn't, but I think it might affect him. Glenn

There was a “racing stripe removal” option for the 2024 DH. I ordered mine that way so in 10 years when the decals start peeling and looking like crap I didn’t have to take them off to reveal a possibly different shade of paint.

I'm thinking about taking mine off, although my wife is against it. I want to vinyl wrap the hood and wrap the rest of the car with PPF. I just haven't been able to bring myself to the point of actually ripping them off.

I just did PPF last week and full ceramic coating Wednesday. The place that I went to had a pattern that, when they printed off the PPF film, actually cut around the factory decals.

This brought the PPF kind of even with the vinyl and then when they did full ceramic coating it covered everything; the PPF and the factory hood decals as well as the rest of the car.

I told them to wrap over the decals with gloss ppf so the hood would be 1 piece and be fully protected

So mine are glossy now
