H-pipe resonator delete - who has done it?

Now that i have your attention.. i was wondering what your opinions are on it?

Coming from a 19GT - ive noticed the dark horse seems louder stock vs stock. The 19 was very muted and the resonator delete woke it up nicely... however the dark horse in stock form seems to be about as loud as the GT with the resonator delete.

my question is.. to those of you that have installed one, do you like it? regret it? too loud? i have one sitting here, but Im not sure if i want to install it or not, because its hard to go back to the resonator once you chop it off. Im just afraid its going to be too loud since it seems like the dark horse mufflers are different than the GTs.

I had a resonator delete (steeda x pipe) on my Mach 1, which I believe has identical exhaust. IMO it was too loud. In traffic it was obnoxiously loud in downshifts. I removed it after 3 months and enjoed the car much more. I think the exhaust is plenty loud in track mode as-is.

Keep in my exhaust volume and sound preference is very subjective. Your mileage may vary.

@RYTBER ..... when I first ordered my clear Corsa tops Corsa (I was told) was having trouble with their tubes in that cracks were developing where the sensor ports were incorporated so I decided to wait until this was solved - which it may be now. BTW - everyone I know and people who ask to look at my engine when I stop for a coffee, groceries etc. etc. LOVE the look. IMO money well spent.

Remember, when you look at my sig, I am running headers, a performance connector in a 3' system. The Corsa/Lethal resonated x2 H pipe is different from the non-resonated one. On YouTube, they have a video for each.

For my setup its perfectly toned because the active still works, and the tone does change between modes. At WOT is is a very nice controlled tone that you can hear, but you are not running away covering your ears.

I put a ROUSCH H-Pipe on my 25 GT with AE and blood flows from the big head to the little head at every start up and extreme acceleration moments.

Even though I have the resonator delete in the box, I decided at the last second to hang on to the stock exhaust for awhile. I haven’t even had it a week yet.

It really does sound good. So much better than my 19GT did stock. I really don’t want to ruin it by it becoming too raspy. I’m sure eventually I’ll swap it out but for now I’m really liking what it offers.

Yeah like I said - the tubes in general make me nervous as I’ve seen things where stuff like that actually detracts from performance but I love the look of the corsa airbox covers!

Does anyone have the Lethal double H pipe resonated on their active exhaust with stock headers?
If so how much volume does it add over the stock resonator?

My '25 DHP has a Lethal/Corsa 3" double H pipe with high flow resonators with a Whipple Stage one, vapor catch can, and a Steeda Stop-the-Hop kit. LOVE the sound. A low rumble with absolutely no raspiness. I detest the raspy sound and won't have it. Love how mine sounds now. Corsa seems to have really have it figured out.

I've done H-and X-pipes on almost everything (to include non-Mustangs). Had an H-pipe on my first DH (enjoyed it but not overjoyed with it) and went with the Borla Switchfire X-pipe on my second DH.

I wish I could better capture the aural aesthetic--but, alas, such a feat is not within my skill set. The stock active exhaust (to me) is already near perfect for my taste...the Borla pipe just seems to add a slightly more exotic growl down low, in the mid range, and at WOT.

I have Steeda's. It's just as quiet in quiet mode as before, cold starts are a bit louder no matter what. Normal sounds like Sport, Sport sounds like Track, and Track sounds a step louder.

.....on the subject of exhaust sound. I pulled into a coffee shop today. About 10 seconds later an unmarked Police cruiser pulled in beside me. He knew Mustangs. He said was yours set on track back there when you left that light - it seemed too loud to me. I replied (truthfully) Officer I'll start he for you. Mine re-sets to "normal" (second setting) every time it is shut off. I started the car it showed "normal setting. He said ok I could have sworn it was in track. I bought him his coffee and donut. He laughed. THANK YOU FORD for that re-set. *****I know - hopefully he will not find that out or he may be looking for me. My molten magenta metallic convertible with space gray seat and premium wheels stands out.

Had and X in my 19 and a Steeda H on my 24… just went to a borla switchfire to prep for headers… for me the H was better than the X the H is louder in start up than the Borla but the Borla refines the sound to be deeper and not as raspy up top.. I have a Ford Performance Extreme Active Axle back and both the Steeda H and Bola sound great but the Bolra is a tad bit better.
