Anyone have a tutorial on how to remove (and install, I guess) the key cylinder on the glove box?
This is the closest I could find. Its a Bronco lock assembly, but I can't seem to "pick" mine out.
Thanks, @GooberDH. Pretty good review--I admit, I've never really paid that much attention. I drive only when I have to in the Winter and, after many seasons on many brands of winter tires, I've grown fond of the Vredesteins.
In any case, I feel I've overstayed my welcome in a thread about...
I was just looking at your trident line--just didn't know if the offsets would work. Again, I apologize for this hijack, but if you have a link(s), pls post or send to me, thanks.
I do need a winter wheel setup for a DH with handling pack. Hoping to find a square solution that will allow me to run 255 maybe up to 275/35R19 (lots of winter tire options in that range). Anyway, I realize this is way off topic--sorry.
I literally have broken vertebrae and burst fractures in my spine, so getting underneath to do this in my S550 was a bit of a challenge. The installation was not (for me) as "quick" and easy as the S650 instructions suggest. Honestly, is the install for the 555-7033 spring as easy as your...
Had to chuckle at that. But, comm goes both ways. Good topic, though. In related FTC news, John Deere will now have to comply with a similar right-to-repair policy.
@Zig, I confess, IDK. There is something in your position that I am not capable of understanding. I'm sure someone can address whatever nuance I am missing. I'm out.
Ah, I think I follow. The logic is kinda reversed. The Unfair and Deceptive Practices Act enforced by the FTC is designed to protect consumers. The Repair Act covers more than just consumers. It provides a scope of coverage for the non-OEM market that includes parts and independent shops. It...
I apologize up front; I'm not sure what this question is asking. If the question is how HR 1566 / HR 7389 will be enforced against manufacturers, the bill refers to enforcement actions the FTC will take (which could include redress of the complainant's concern and additional proscriptions the...
I applaud the effort to establish a "right" to fix or have fixed my own vehicle (which one already has the right to do at some risk for warrantied cars). However, some of this effort feels like a bit of a nothing burger (so far).
Politics aside, the "memo" does a poor job of conflating two...
I guessed at what was causing the squeak, placed a piece of cardboard behind the clutch lever, and shot a touch of dry lube on top and bottom of the perch. Odd, because as you can see, there's quite a bit of grease on there already. What I can't attest to is whether I inadvertently sprayed a bit...
Second diagnosis by @Shadowblackbeast. However, my solution was conceptually but not procedurally the same. That exact squeak emerged about a week after I picked up my 2026 DH. Having done one clutch spring replacement (on an S550), I didn't really want to risk/repeat the torture. IDK, maybe the...
Yeh, I usually do the same. I have a collection of actual lojacks in a box somewhere. This particular unit seems to be more deeply integrated into the car. I haven't yet taken a look to see how it's wired in, but the dealer is likely going to remove it as a courtesy--given that I own the car and...
LoL, I already tried removing the GPS module and my dash lit up with warning icons (e.g., hood open). So, I'm guessing I can't just pull out the pigtail (which is what I was initially going to try).
The indicator light (also has a button that I guess is the on/off switch) is located under the driver's side footwell (lower right side). The wire connected to it runs behind the center dash (area for the USB cubbie) which runs into the module (mine was zip tied to some cabling behind the glove...
Found the ubiquitous GPS/repo tracker in my DH. Before starting a new thread, I thought I would revisit this one to see if anyone knows how to remove this device. I'm the title holder for my DH. I'm waiting to hear back from the dealership to see if they will remove it for me...but, I've no...
