Yes to Brembo and B&O.
The Brembos are awsomely powerful and controllable and could easily save you an insurance claim. But they will be more expensive to maintain; pads, discs, etc.
I love the B&O system. Some don't, but it's great to my aging ears.

Oh ... so a twin turbo Ecoboost would make the Mustang more competitive, but, it still wouldn't be the "real deal" so why bother? Well .... I appreciate being enlightend today, and don't worry, my street racing days are long past LOL
It's the sound. The power when you need it. The GT badge.

Yep, I get it. Ford gets it too! These are mass produced, assembly line vehicles. 200+ cars a day roll off the Flat rock production line, some are the "real deal" - with the sound, power and GT badge, the rest are just "other" Mustangs. One after another. Same sheet metal, mfg processes, interior stuff, nothing "custom" in the process, etc etc. Thanks to the legions of "enthusiasts", they can get 10 grand more for the sound, and the power and GT badge. It's likely that no one on this forum really believes Ford has 10 grand more in a GT. I see a bright future for Mustangs - GT enthusiasts are a marketers dream.

Obviously it wouldn't sound like a Coyote but at least IF it had approximately 400HP it would be faster and might be more fun. I have been told that the ownership span for an ecoboost is the shortest, by a wide margin, for any Ford product. The auto trader and car gurus are full of ecoboosts for sale. Makes one wonder why. BTW jb I bet if you bought a GT that would put a smile on your face, just sayin'.

Actually they get more like 20 grand more.

I am not sure how much more a Coyote engine costs to produce, along with the exhaust etc. etc. does it cost 10 or 20 grand? Probably not. Is it worth it? You bet.

If anything is a marketing scheme it is the Ecoboost version. Ford had always had a budget friendly version of the Mustang. It was kind of the point of the car. Drive up to any lot amd there are seven Ecoboost versions lined up with a GT at the end. The GT always has 200 miles on it by the time it is sold. Everyone wants to test drive it. But when it comes down to dollars (and getting permission from your spouse) they drive off in the Ecoboost. I mean look, if you are not an enthusiast you don't know the difference in the bumpers or trim. The logos are small compared to the car overall. So ya, they sell a ton of the less expensive version. And they are better on gas, cheaper insurance and true to the original mission of the Mustang to provide a reasonably priced fun car.

I can tell you I have really enjoyed driving the Ecoboost. But I never wanted to buy one, not after driving a GT. You know as well as I do that while reading this forum every four or five posts starts out with I just traded in my Ecoboost for a .....

If you are 25 or 30, want a bad ass looking car for turning chicks heads, don't have 60 grand in dispensable income, the Ecoboost version of the Mustang is going to get you there. It is a good car. If you are 60 and want a well made American convertible, or just a nice looking car, the Ecoboost fits the bill.

If you are at a stage in life where kids are grown, not strapped with life's expenses, and you want a car that is the best of it's breed, that V8 is where it is at.

Looking back at classic Mustangs, what versions were more collectible? More in demand? Probably the GT. Just because of marketing, I think not.

I'll be ordering a GT Convertible in February of 26 and I'm seeking some input from owners.

Intended use of the car is to enjoy day trips in the ME, NH, & VT countryside when we aren't out with our F150 Lariat PB and TT.

My wife and I are in our mid 60's so we aren't doing anything radical with the car except have her 135 pound lapdog in the back seat.

Let's say Nov thru May the car will be off the road.

Two questions basically:

1) Should I get the BEMBO Brakes?

2) Is the 12 SPKR B&O a waste in a convertible?

Appreciate any and all thoughts.

John
Regarding number 2 — I didn’t order the 12 speaker sound system in my 21 convertible (as I thought it was silly in a convertible). I quickly found out with the top down at highway speeds the radio did not have enough power. I had to go to an audio guy to up the output. In hindsight it would have been cheaper and easier to get the upgraded audio when I ordered the car

No, and No.

I recommend at least the following:
GT premium Convertible
Premier trim
Automatic 10-speed
19ā€ wheels
B&O sound
Mini spare & tire
Active Valve Exhaust
And,
Brembo Brakes. .

Our GT convertible came with the Brembo brakes, but not the system with the bigger front rotors.

I can tell you what I did after I bought my 2015 Mustang 50th Anniversary Appearance Package.
1. Replaced mufflers and resonator with Ford Performance X pipe and Borla Touring mufflers.
2. Oil catch can
3. Hood Struts
4. Love the Drive wind deflector. (This is a must-have!)
5. Replaced every light with LED bulbs. (Diode Dynamics)
6. Ceramic coating.

Because it's a convertible, music isn't going to sound as good as a sealed car unless you go custom. I don't care, I bought the car to drive, not lounge in.

I've had four Mustangs, all have been GT's, must be a reason. I didn't get permission from anyone and spent what I wanted on them. They aren't made to be just "grocery getters". Yes, Ford is a for profit company, like all car manufacturers and they all market their cars. What revelations. To the OP, just get what you want and be happy about it. I learned that a long time ago. You aren't going to take it with you. Mustangs are for having fun like all sports cars, not for "wishing I woulda".

I get what you’re saying. I have the B&O in my MY23 F150 Lariat and I can’t say I’m all that impressed with it. So I’m questioning why spend $1200.00 on an upgrade to a so-so system and as someone else pointed out, a convertible isn’t the ideal audio situation.

I was back see-sawing GT- vs - EB and your reply pushed me back to GT. As we have no kids, when we both cross over our will has everything going to a local animal shelter, I am going enjoy now what I denied myself while working and saving for retirement. So thanks for the nudge back to spirited fun.

I ordered a 25 in 24 and have the performance pack and b&o. I believe (I could be wrong) the PP that comes with Brembos comes with additional bracing *which may be helpful for rigidity* and also make sure you get Magneride. Magneride is a must. Since I don't tinker with cars, I'd really suggest getting the active valve exhaust. That alone may be one of my favorite feature of the car. I've been pleased with everything so far. GO FOR THE PREMIUM GT.

I have the top B&O in my '21 KR, lots of speakers even in the head rest, maybe the same one as in yours. And I paid for the 12spkr in my vert. I am not an audiophile, but I do like music. The Mustang is not bad. The one in the truck is clearly better. I am sure the cabin vs. fabric top are part of that.
If nothing else it is easier to upgrade.

That said I have only listened to the radio in the driveway. And I have only listened to the exhaust with the top down while driving.😁
