I am so confused.......I went to order the TPMS with part number ending in the letter G from fordparts website and its telling mebits not the right one. When I put the one in for the Dark horse PN ending in K.....it does not give me the message. CJ says the K part is for 24 Mustang with magneride, which my GT has.....I have winter tires on now which they used existing TPMS from original tires but I don't want to keep switching them out. I'm ready to put original tires back on but I'm not sure which ones to order. I am having Discount tire put my tires back on and they say they have the program from ford to make universal TPMS work but it's not working so I need to find my own or have the existing sensors switched again.

I can vouch for the PN above (I also have MagneRide)- works great. Just remember to get the TPMS 19 remote (8C2Z1A203A) to go with it to train each wheel.

Was having some issues with this a few days back and didn't realize a thread had already been started... I wasn't able to get the usual train method working with the old S550 remote for each individual wheel but I did the reset method to re-sync them where the vehicle beeps twice at the end. It seemed to work and relearned the wheels (TPMS fault went away also). Was hoping some others could give it a try so that I could verify it's not a false positive.

This is the video I used incase instructions are needed:
HOW TO: Reset the TPMS on All 2011 - 2021 FORDS | Easy Method - YouTube
the video link really helped thanks.!
Could you please clarify what you meant when you said

“but I did the reset method to re-sync them where the vehicle beeps twice at the end. It seemed to work and relearned the wheels (TPMS fault went away also)”

did you not use the tool and the car re-learnt the TPMS when you got into the re-learning mode?

I have gotten the TPMS fault recently and I am unsure what the problem could be. I am awaiting for the TPMS tool to come in - but was wondering whether the car relearns without the tool by itself?

The big thing is verify that you are using sensor part number F2GZ-1A189-G (433mhz). They will NOT re-learn tire PSI automatically UNTIL you have used the TPMS 19 remote to train each wheel so it knows the wheel position (typically only needs to be done once when first getting wheels). The normal TPMS 19 remote stated above from the previous generations will work. If you haven't used the remote yet to train each wheel then the code will keep coming back and may even be providing false (last known) values instead of blank values for each wheel.

thank you for the quick response. I’m unsure how to figure out the part number I had this happen while on stock wheels and tires. It just came up when I was on a spirited drive. Tire pressures are normal and only one wheel - PF is reporting error(screen has - -)

I have ordered that —> https://a.co/d/0jfHLFQh as the TPMS tool. Any thoughts? How does one check the sensor part that’s running inside the stock wheel without dismounting the tire?
thank you’

That TPMS tool will work! If you're on stock wheels and tires, it's safe to assume you have the proper sensors- start by trying to re-learn the sensor. If you had a tire rotation recently it can cause it to fault out. If the re-learn process does not work it's either a bad sensor or possible BCM issue. at that point I would have it in to the dealer since you're under warranty.

thanks mate! I’ll follow the procedure for the relearn once I get the tool. I was hoping it would relearn itself.

Let’s see how we go! Will keep you posted.
Cheers!

That is correct sensor part number (AKA: TPMS74)... Although to be more correct, they are dual band... 433mhz for backwards compatibility (replaces previous versions, and why the old learn tool "wakes them up"), and 866mhz on the new cars.

Absolutely correct, thank you Sofa King!

The retrain tool failed to communicate with the sensor that was reporting the fault. It however could communicate to the one which was reporting fine as the horn did sound.
Do I need to replace all 4 sensors or just one sensor that is reporting the fault?
note - the other 3 are showing up on my cluster with psi readings - it’s just one which is showing the value as - -

I don’t want to take it to the dealer yet tbh - I can get the tire dismounted and mounted at a mates.!

Just the faulty sensor is all that needs to be replaced.

Thanks Sofa King. I’ll get on that and hopefully it will be fine! Part number that I have ordered is F2GZ1A189G - directly from Ford. None of the others have it handy.

Following up!
The faulty TPMS sensor was replaced with a new one, all 4 wheels were re-trained with the TPMS tool and we are good to go!
The fault light is gone and I am able to see the psi reading on the cluster from all 4 wheels.
thanks to the support on this thread - it was a breeze to get it done.
Thank you all!
