I have installed multiple programs on cars in the past…..back they were from SuperChip. They were easy just follow the directions as is this Ford Performance Tune. Found a dealer 2 hours away who would do it with a minimum of 2 hours labor. Only reason I wanted a dealership was the warranty. I think I will order it and decide on where and how later. Thanks
1990 wants its tuning back, Vanilla Ice.

Appointment scheduled for 10:00 AM tomorrow for the install. Hopefully no install issues, the shop has installed several already. I am amazed on how many FORD dealers do not want to touch this install. Even if you offer to go the two hours labor, they are not interested.

They probably already know all of their techs are idiots...
I do find living in a smaller city, most of the local dealers really only have one guy "certified" as the programming guy... they try to avoid anything involving programming unless directly specified in another repair process.

Despite my general lack of interest in competitive applications of my "new" 2024 EcoBoost (https://www.mustang7g.com/forums/threads/introductions-welcome-thread-👋.156050/page-56#post-3528073), this tune from Ford Racing seemed like too good a deal to pass up. An 11% increase in HP and 14% in torque for $850 plus installation, and just an hour or two of passive waiting at a dealership? Good tunes don't get much easier than that, I would think. And warranty coverage! Google AI alerted me to the 25% discount code (published here too, but I didn't see it until today) and also made the recommendation of paying in advance for the installation through Ford online. That way the expense is fixed and the customer can't be told that it took three hours of labor instead of one.

So I applied the discount code, selected from the list a Ford dealer just 10 minutes from my house, and prepaid for the installation. Now I just have to schedule the date after the dealership receives the kit. Total price for the tune kit, dealer installation, and all sales tax: $795.59.

Update: I had the Performance tune installed today on my 2024. The process could not have been smoother.

When the tune kit arrived at the dealer, I received an email from Ford alerting me, and directing me to make an installation appointment with the dealer. I called, and they knew who I was, remarking that they had indeed gotten the kit. The appointment was for about 10 days out.

This morning, I arrived for the appointment and the service guy at the desk again knew why I was there after I gave him my name. I waited in the lounge while the work was done. The total elapsed time before I left was about 1 hour and 35 minutes. The statement of work they handed me showed a balance due of $0.00. The Procal device was in a box on the seat of the car. I didn't even have to ask for it.

As to performance, I haven't yet given the Mustang a thorough workout due to a blended octane issue. I haven't had the car long, and I don't know what kind of gas was in it at delivery. The worst-case scenario -- and the likely scenario, I imagine -- was 87 octane. So based on that assumption, and the fuel I've added to date, I calculated the octane of the tankful I had this morning at 90.8625. I want to get it a little higher before I stop driving "gently," as was recommended to me. Another half-tankful at 93 or maybe 94 should do the trick. It will be a steady diet of 93 after that.
