Ford Performance Air/oil seperator installation questions.

I finally received the Ford Performance oil seperator kit and I have a couple questions regarding installation.

The passenger side seperator mounts to the shock tower area. The instructions say to replace the two ground wire bolts, mount the bracket and reconnect. But it doesn't say if you need to disconnect the battery, and it doesn't say if the bracket goes under the new bolt, or over the nut on the new bolt.

Im probably overthinking this, but before I start disconnecting things id like to know the proper way to mount the bracket. The instructions are not good at all. Can anyone who has this post a picture or two of how you mounted it? And did you disconnect the battery before changing the ground wire bolts? Thanks!

Looks like the grounds go under the stud bolts when you install them so they ground to the body

Thanks. I got the passenger side on. The ground cables have tabs that keep them secured to the frame. So I just carefully swapped the bolts one at a time with no issue.

Fun fact, if you have a strut brace you cant get a socket on the rear most ground cable bolt as it sits directly under the brace. So I had to unscrew and tighten the new bolt with a box wrench while reaching underneath blind. That was super fun, and I cut the shit out of my finger on the engine cover which also does not come off without removing the strut brace.

I cant get the driver side bracket on because I have the anchor room coolant tank cover, and it shares a bolt that you need to attach the bracket and doesnt leave enough room. So im just leaving it off now as im pretty sure the passenger side is the important one anyway. Oh and I dropped the bracket down onto the belly pan trying to get it to fit. So my 10 min job turned into 45 mins and lots of cus words for only one side to be finished. At least I was able to use a magnet to fish the bracket out.

I was thinking about getting a coolant tank cover as well. I have a J&L catch can for the passenger side. It's bracket mounts to the rear post on the reservoir. Do you know if I will have a problem with the cover? Thank you kind sir.

No idea as I cant see the bracket in the picture. My guess is you will have an issue.

The back of the Ancor Room coolant tank only leaves about a 1/4" between the cover and the bolt. Some modification to the bracket or cover will most likely be needed.
