Last word hog
Irritating insecure twerp addicted to having the last word of a discussion or argument - always responding to the concluding remarks of others despite having nothing new or meaningful to say. A sufferer of lastworditis aka last-word syndrome.

A pair of Last Word Hogs may continue a discussion with pointless childish bickering until senile dementia and/or fighting intervenes.

she: Yeah, but these spuds woz Cre-Mated.

he: At least I don't speak gibberish.

she: Don't get the last word on me.

she: No I ain't! / he: You are too! / she: AIN'T! / he: you ARE! / ... / (fade to divorce, spuds as co-respondents)

Easy to avoid of course by simply ignoring people who upset you. If you need help on how to do it just ask

Come on guys, please, give it a rest. It was humorous at first but it's really time to put the ruler away. Just agree to disagree and move on. Go grab a pint or something.:giggle::like:

In the end, the market will show Ford whether they were right or wrong with respect to customer acceptance.
Of course!

It seems a little silly to suggest that any large, thriving company doesn’t know who it‘s customers are. Rather “our”, pardon me. A successful company might misfire once in a while, but by definition they get it right more often than not.

Honestly I do not drink Guinness here. Where ever I am I’m always looking out for the best local brewery. But when I’m in Ireland this fall you can bet I’ll be knocking down some pints with the locals. 👍🍻🍺

I agree, I like the dash in my S650, while I am probably not the "target generation, as I am in my mid 40's.

I almost walked out of the finance office from buying my car. I have prime credit 715-730 depending on who you look at and the best the dealer could come at me with on financing was 10.8% APR. I also had money to put down on the car if that helped to get the interest rate down. Dealer pretty much told me those were the rates and that was it. I made a phone call while sitting in their office to Navy Federal and got approved at 5.5%. Probably should have made that phone call first, but I figured Ford credit is usually competitive. Bottom line is no one wants to pay 10% + in interest on a car note so that is slowing car sales as well. It would be interesting to see how many sales start on the S650 and end up with a MachE sale because of incentives and "special financing".

Side note, dealers/salesman have gotten lazy since COVID and pretty well expect vehicles to sell themselves and are not willing to negotiate on pricing anymore. You are either going to pay their price or they are going to sell it to the next person that comes through the door. Case and point is the Toyota dealership down the street from me hasn't had a full lot of new cars to sell since COVID and can't keep more that 15-20 cars on the lot. As soon as they get a truckload of cars in the area gone out the door at sticker every time.
Some dealers in my area have been known to play games where they offload their inventory to an off-site lot to create the perception that they don't have much inventory... Whatever they can do to screw the consumer... Sad but true.

I don’t have to like these things (and I do not) to recognize that they are accurate and truthful. I don’t like the stick-on iPads, but they’re there. I can either adapt and enjoy the cars for what they are while ignoring what I don’t like, spend a lot more $ getting something else or lay around and carp about it. I choose the former. I’m on my second ‘24 because a loud 500 hp V-8 is hard to come by under $100 large. And just like with Harleys, at 75 I have aged out of their target market and I accept that. It’s reality. But at the same time even at only 200 miles (bad weather) I can confidently say that my new Tremec HP equipped DH is easily the most exhilarating factory stock automobile I’ve ever owned. Where you gonna score that for $73K? So my choices are to either enjoy the heck out of or sit around and bitch about the screens and how much more it costs than last year’s model. What you think I’m gonna do?

Again, like it or not (in this case I do like it), it’s accurate and truthful. A free market is always self regulating.
With regards to a free market self-regulating, we don't have a free market when it comes to products that are necessities such as vehicles or grocery etc you're buying from one or the other. If they are all raising prices, they haven't given you a choice to pick an alternative option. That is a captive market, the exact opposite of a free market. You can choose to give your money to somebody else but if that somebody else also raises prices, you don't have an option. When all manufacturers raise prices at the same time, that is the very definition of collusion. You can claim your semiconductor prices went up when we had a shortage but the prices have come back down. Somehow cars have not.

While that may be the case in some areas, I know the owner of this dealership franchise. That is not the case here. His Toyota's sell almost as fast as he can get them in. He has multiple brands all over the MD/VA area and the other brands all have 3-5 times the inventory On the lot.

An ironic comment considering how much moaning there is going on in this forum about the prices of Mustangs are too high, so not enough schmucks can afford them! Can't have it both ways.
The DORK-HORSE which is a re-badged Mach 1 for $20K more 🦹🏻‍♂️ is most certainly OVER PRICED 🥱 but of course if you own one you'll be the last to admit that 👍

Well apples to apples, the 2023 Mach 1 stickered for $57,965, the 2024 Dark Horse $60,635. Hardly $20,000. We all know about the ‘25 price increases which make the ‘24 a much better value.

OK - my 21 well equipped Mach 1 was $64K, and the fairly well equipped DorkHorse on the showroom floor when I was looking for a GT was $76K and change, not 20K - but $14K.

Now Here's a 2024 Dorky that's built out for $81K 👇 that's $9K more than the 24 C8 Z51 I'm looking at picking up right now - that will spank its' man sized depend'all's all the way down the track...😇

I'M A LAST WORD HOG ...
