  1. S650 is there no actual oil temp sensor?

I would love to duplicate your results. I don't think I have a heat camera laying around but finding an infrared pyrometer won't be too difficult. Where were you measuring with the heat camera to come up with the oil temp? Were you pulling out the dipstick and checking the temperature on the end...
  2. Will there be a S650 PP2?

I actually came over from the Chevy world. Chevy consistently out options and under prices Ford... Had they sold more Camaros, it wouldn't have died... Now the mustang is all we got. That's always been the debate with the Camaro. Fundamentally a better sports car but less interior space and...
  3. What is this noise from oil cap? And why is there a "gap" in air/oil separator

So in the end, did they say that was the PCV valve rattling / sucking air but it sounded like it was coming from the oil cap?
  4. S650 is there no actual oil temp sensor?

Yep. Well aware of thermistors/thermocouples and their usage for temperature measurements. The CHT seems like it is essentially a coolant temp sensor possibly mounted within a coolant passage in the head. I don't think it's pulling oil temps from the same sensor because I've seen a 50 Fahrenheit...
  5. S650 is there no actual oil temp sensor?

I tried looking through the Ford parts connect catalog with the VIN for my GT performance pack car... No oil temperature sensor comes up as a replacement part at all. Bunch of other kinds of sensors pop up such as coolant temp, ambient temp for the AC, transmission fluid temp etc. But no oil...
  6. Ford Performance Bullitt Shift Knob Installed

The factory knobs that don't have a jam nut require them to be loctited in place using loctite blue. That's how they come from the factory. If you screw them all the way down too hard, you can end up with the stem breaking off the top of the knob and it won't be straight either. There are a lot...
  7. What is this noise from oil cap? And why is there a "gap" in air/oil separator

Take the oil cap off and see if the gasket underneath is missing. The gasket that goes on the oil cap may potentially fall out during a change. Not typical on something new, usually on older cars but there could be a manufacturing defect that caused the gasket to be loose and to be lost when the...
  8. Oil Separator-Good!

Not a rumor or a unicorn. I was investigating this option heavily before eventually deciding that the hassle of tapping the oil pan for a drain line wasn't worth it when the car is still under warranty and just bought a UPR kit when they went on sale around Christmas time. This type of system...
  9. S650 is there no actual oil temp sensor?

The pictures I've seen show a sensor adjacent to the filter. But all the things I'm also seeing state that is an oil pressure sensor not temperature. I haven't looked at the differential closely enough to determine if there are wires coming out of it and whether or not that's a temperature...
  10. S650 is there no actual oil temp sensor?

Mine (GT PREMIUM PP MT82D4) shows values for oil temperature and axle oil temperature in the display as well. What the post that I was referencing was saying was that there's no actual sensor and the computer is just figuring out what the oil temp should probably be based on other data it has...
  11. 2024+ Mustang GT Air Intake Filters

Hi All, I ordered a set of these and installed and just wanted to put up a quick review to support them. In a nutshell, I love the filters. Great part! Install time might be 15 minutes if you work fast. Took me about 30 to 40 minutes related to my back/neck problems limiting my mobility and me...
  12. S650 is there no actual oil temp sensor?

https://www.mustang7g.com/forums/threads/s650-non-performance-pack-oil-cooler-pp-radiator-brake-ducts-inner-fender-liner-install.165071/ In the first post in the above thread, the statement there was that the oil temp on all S650 models is "inferred" based on other parameters and displayed in...
  13. Ford has no clue who their customers our

With regards to a free market self-regulating, we don't have a free market when it comes to products that are necessities such as vehicles or grocery etc you're buying from one or the other. If they are all raising prices, they haven't given you a choice to pick an alternative option. That is a...
  14. Ford has no clue who their customers our

Some dealers in my area have been known to play games where they offload their inventory to an off-site lot to create the perception that they don't have much inventory... Whatever they can do to screw the consumer... Sad but true.
  15. Ford has no clue who their customers our

Lord knows if the resale was anywhere near tolerable, it would have been gone already shortly after delivery. Nonetheless, I've worked through with the dealers and Ford over time to make the car manageable/reliable. Still have some electronic issues to sort out but I've already gone too far down...
  16. Door open, transmission blocked? UE/US ?

It seems there's likely a new US safety standard due to the reasons stated above in the quoted post about accidental deaths involving non-conventional automatic shifter controls. I think these new cars if they are stopped, just go into park automatically. My Honda does that and so does my...
  17. How did Steeda put 4.09 gears in a S650 that has no access to tuning?

If the speedo isn't off despite the gear ratio change, that sounds like it's reading vehicle speed speed off of a front wheel ABS/wheel speed sensor. If that's correct, the speedo will only be off if front tire size changes. Have you noticed any funny ABS behavior in hard stops or any other...
  18. Ford has no clue who their customers our

Not true. I own an s650 and it's the worst built car I've ever owned both with software glitches and problems with the mechanical components along with horrible service from local dealers and not just one, three of them. See my other threads for details. Car's been out of my possession often...
  19. MT82 - How are the shifts?

I think I found where the clutch delay valve is after reviewing some posts on mustang6G. It appears to be In the elbow between the transmission and the plastic clutch line that everybody replaces for the stainless steel line. Link to the relevant thread is below. The pictures in that thread do a...
  20. smooooth / sticky? clutch

The fact that it went away over time suggests air in the line causing the master cylinder to be sluggish. Over time, the air bled itself out with ongoing use as ford claims it is a self-bleeding system with enough pumping / clutch usage. That may be all it needed...time and use.
