I am in the middle of installing mine. It has been a real pain trying to pull the plug out of the sensor. Any suggestions?
You need a very small screwdriver that can push down the connector locking tab. See picture attached.

Here attached is 10 second sample from Fitcamx. Normal video output file has 2560x1440 resolution. The attached is reduced and with the sound disabled. It works great and I love the custom look with no USB wires hanging out from my mirror.

That looks fantastic... Which version did you order and did you order any of the options with the basic camera?

I installed the fitcamx app on my phone and it broke Android auto. The camera works good though, very discreet as it's tied into mirror. I like the idea of having evidence if something happens. there are many nuts out there smoking weed, texting, etc..... while driving.

Any other updates to how well the Fitcamx works, or doesn't work? This looks like it's going to be my choice as it is stealthy and I don't like things hanging off the windshield if possible. Also, will the rain sensor power both the camera and a radar detector? I have a V1G2 with a tap to the rain sensor. Thanks!
I too am curious if it will power both radar detector and the fitcamx ?

The rain sensor uses a 5 amp Fuse (#124). The only way to check the current draw of the sensor is to remove the fuse and place a DC amp meter across the fuse terminals and measure the current while the rain sensor runs (spray water on windshield). This would provide info how much spare power is there before the 5 amp fuse blows. Then you need to know how much power the radar detector takes to make sure you are not exceeding the total 5 amps before connecting to the rain sensor wires.

Thank you for the information. Im wondering if anyone has used the fitcamx and then used the rain sensor for radar. Does the fitcamx use the rain sensor? If so then it would have to power both?
Thanks

Just got back from a long trip. The camera worked great, with top notched clarity. The program breaks it down into 5 min. Max segments. The only complaint is that I was on a road in western Maryland was taking a shortcut on a twisty little road that went over a one lane stone bridge. I have no clue as to why, but my recording was missing that 15 minute segment. I was really hoping to download that clip for later.

First Post!

The fitcam X plugs into the rain sensor and I have my radar detector plugged into a different plug up there. I have zero issues. HERE is the radar detector kit I used, it works perfect.

The Fitcam app is terrible. The best way to access video is to just pull the sd card and do everything on a PC. SD card is really easy to remove and put back in. I would also upgrade from the 64gb sd they provide to a 256gb sd.

I attached a video I pulled, another S650 GT leaving the light next to me. I live in a small college town so it's 50/50 if the kid next to you thinks you're racing or not.

Pretty clear footage.
One thing I have not seen yet is night time footage... I wanna see if license plates and other details are clear at night.
If you happen to drive at night, can you share footage sometime?

Otherwise great post!!

Night driving the quality is not good. I will post a night video when I get a chance. That's one of the complaints I saw on Amazon reviews when I ordered it but I don't drive at night much so wasn't a deal breaker for me.

Great information. Would love to see footage if you get a chance.

I'm super torn on this thing. I love the integration.... but really want decent night video as well you know?

The OEM like fitment is awesome for sure.
The only night video I viewed was on a back road with zero street lights and I was the only car. Quality was very poor. Let me go grab the SD and see what I have.
