I'm still so surprised Hot Wheels or Matchbox, one of the cheaper brands hasn't shown plans for an S650. But, I guess maybe that leak that happened with the 2010 Mustang years ago scared them off.

I thought the same. Usually Hot Wheels is first...and with them being old school American, and with the Mustang and all, I assumed they would be first. They technically still may be, as the Greenlight ones aren't expected to hit stores until around Sept/Oct.

Very good point. I hope it is in the works. I've been pleased with how HW has depicted Mustangs lately.

Mattel and Hot Wheels had the CAD files and all early for the 2010-2011 refresh S197 so it was available for when the car made its official debut at the LA Auto show in November 2008, but the diecast prototypes made appearances on the internet days or maybe a week or two early revealing the full body changes before Ford wanted it out in public. They were not pleased.

These were later handed out at the LA Auto Show. The only difference for the "auto show release" versus the normal version was the card that said so.

I pre-ordered the 1/64 diecast Mustang GT back in April from Mustang Owners Museum, ship date was supposed to be late September but has been pushed back to late November.

Looks like Jada Toys is gonna be the first "mainstream" diecast maker to do the 2024 Mustang. It is in 1/24 sale.
