I think it was true back in the day, and Monday/Friday cars.
If there was one or two common failures across the board with the 2024 Mustang, I think you can make that argument. But to say to anyone who posts here with a problem on their 2024 car that its because they didn't wait for the second year of protection just comes across as very unhelpful and ignorant IMO.

Not to drag an old talking point on, but the exposed wheel well hole is a very small example of one of these first/second model year issues that are now resolved

Please. Thats hardly a "failure" worthy of not buying a car. Not to mention the early 2025 have those holes too.

Heard of a shut off situation, came here to search. Supposedly some dude's wife said fuck this and let it drift out of turn into bar ditch and culvert. They have attorney and dash cam if Ford even flitches on replacing. Sending customer back out in a vehicle that shuts down for any reason what so ever is insane Ford Explorer AT level stupidity and risk management. Whoever at Ford hears of such behavior and does not immediately mission critical get the vehicle out of customers hands is in cahoots with lawyers.

You are very difficult to talk to, man.

I have given plenty of examples of first two model years cars having issues that were either later addressed, or could very well impact someones desire to own a car, as well as providing an example for our very own S650’s which show that, yes, early model cars DO often have issues simply due to the fact that they are, in fact, new. I even went as far as to make it clear that the fender hole was a very minor example of the larger idea.

What I get back is you either A) reacting with a laughing emoji, or B) being intentionally thick and moving the goalpost.

The suggestion that this is a myth is silly.

You’re just not coming at this discussion with good faith.

I know a radio personality who purchased a Mustang especially to commute to and from the station he works for. One day he went to open his door and the handle came off. So he got in and climbed over the center console. He took it to the dealer and they said all kinds of parts in the assembly were completely shattered. Too much plastic these days, yet the older Mustangs weighed in at about 3000 Lbs?

Weight is largely a bi-product of safety regulations. It is what it is, sadly. Atleast modern cars hide their weight fairly well

What exactly would you have Ford replace all that plastic with?

I have a 25 year old Toyota downstairs that is mostly plastic inside, a 4 year old Toyota that is mostly plastic inside and much of it is outside, a Honda that is mostly plastic inside and a lot outside, a Mustang filled inside and out with plastic and, given that it almost has 500hp, it's a wonder it doesn't weigh more. I had a 1966 Mustang that was mostly vinyl (plastic) inside and yes, it probably only weighed 3000# with no airbags, no seat belts, a six cylinder engine that required more maintenance than today's engines, an AM radio, and that was it, oh, it was 3 on the floor.

Look at old cars, you want steel inside? Cars have come a long ways.

But was you "Play-Pen" a 55 4-Door Chevy that had a paint job reminiscent of a killer whale? Not much plastic, except for a few knobs and what not.

It can be expensive to wait a year. And, it's what warranties are for

Yep. About $4000.00. But if it's timed right you can get $3000.00 off the GTs that are left. I'd like to see how the 26s are going to look. Going to garage my DH Premium, and will need a regular GT soon. Maybe I should get one now, or wait for a 26.
