I've just finished fitting a Yuwei YW04319 parking cam front facing.
I won't go into full detail as the instructions are pretty clear. Finding a place for the display was a bit of a problem as my detector is mounted where the display would be best. But I had a mount for my phone just below the driver side centre vent and I'll just use that interchangeably for the phone and display. I only mount the phone there to cool it on road trips, and I won't need the cam on the highway.
Feeding the cam wiring through the grill just required removing the cover forward of the radiator and getting a hand in to catch the cables.
Then routing the cable through the firewall was very simple (see images). The body plug is quite soft and easy to pull out and replace after you've made a hole for the cable
Luckily I could tap into the power feed for the front sensors I had fitted to power the display, one switch turns both on. The real clever thing is that Yuwei included a power cable in the RCA cable that connects cam to display. So you just have to find one power source to do both. So you can take power from the fuse box in the footwell or, like 5.0ALM did, use the fuse for the demister in the under bonnet fuse box. The demister then acts as your cam switch. Then find earths for the display and cam. I bolted an earth to the metal support for the steering column, and the small bolt on the drivers side ( passenger side US) strut tower. Job done.
It works well, I was going to modify the cam mount to give a view of the splitter, but the cam has distance bars so I'll see how well they work. Seem ok at this point.
These Fords are so much easier to work on than VA Group cars. I'm getting too bloody old to be doubled up under the dash sorting wiring, but I did save a couple of hundred bucks so I'll just stock up on Voltaren.
And, yes, I know the wiring is crap, but I'll tidy it when I can move again. Promise.
