Is there any front parking camera option available yet?

Until there is a camera option, here are two different easy fixes for garage parking:

1. Park it exactly where you want to stop in your garage. Then, put a string through a tennis ball and hang it from the ceiling so it's just barely touching your windshield. Whenever you pull your car in, just pull it forward until you touch the ball on the windshield.

2. These:

Those Parking Mats are pretty cool!! What I did was place a marking indicator (line on the wall in my garage) where I can put the Driver’s (or passenger) mirror in line with and that’s far enough. But Iā€˜ve done the Tennis Ball option as well and it works perfectly.

Yeah - I use one of these. Have the ball hanging from the ceiling too, but some family members still have issues ;) needed something with a little more positive feedback (ie it stops you...)

It looks like these bolt to the floor, are they heavy enough to be used without being bolted?

Just get a 2x4 piece of wood. Not the cheapest, considering the price of wood, but I've been doing this for years and it works. Just make sure the family doesn't accidentally kick/move it when your vehicle isn't there šŸ˜‚

At my last house (pole barn), I added lasers to the Chamberlain garage door openers.

You park the vehicle exactly where you want it. Then you aim the laser at a spot on top of your dash.

When you operate the door opener, the laser comes on for a couple of minutes. You pull in until that laser is pointing at the exact same spot you set it to.

Like the tennis ball trick, but high tech. :)

There is an option to delay the rear camera to stay on after you put the car in drive after the transmission has been in reverse. The cement seam between the driveway and garage is my guide for judging the distance into my garage. I watch for the red lines on the camera to match up with the cement seams, that leaves me about 3 feet from my garage door to the rear of the car. I understand it does not help pulling into a parking spot. But it does help not tripping over the 2x4 for the front wheel.

Just received a reply from Steeda:

Good morning,

The new Sync system uses a different type of camera system that our current camera kit is not compatible with.

We are attempting to design a new kit that will work with this new type of camera, but due to the changes it is difficult and I do not have a timeline.

Thank you,

So, what do you think? Long time until we get anything?
Sounds like we’re S O L.

Sorry, know this is on the old side. I do use these in my garage with a DH and they are not bolted down as they are pretty heavy. However, they are just tall enough to rub the underside of the front under carriage and end up moving a bit when I leave. Normally stop in the driveway when I get home and readjust them then get back in and park. Would love to shave a couple mm off the top, but haven't tried that.
