Does the DH EU engine have any differences aside from a slight increase in power compared to that of the GT? For example, reinforced components (connecting rod, piston...)?
The DH has a few parts from the GT500/GT350. According to some webistes like CJ Ponyparts: the Dark Horse features a few other upgrades over the GT. It receives a uniqely balanced crankshaft and forged piston connecting rods to handle the higher cylinder pressures and piston speeds present in the most powerful non-Shelby Mustang ever. You also get strengthened camshafts and a 7,500 RPM redline.
So I a guessing even if the HP has been lowered compared to the US version the differences above still apply.
The DH has a shorter axle ratio. This is a special thing for europe as US GTs with Performance Package gets the same ratio as Dark Horses
EU GT vs EU DH
AT: 3.15 vs 3.55
MT: 3.55 vs 3.73
Thank you for all this information. The choice isn't easy, as there's a 10k€ difference between the GT and DH. Moreover, the GT, with a few modifications, can become very high-performing, but the design of the DH is also attractive.
*DH have different tuning for the EPAS, TSC/ABS, magneride
*DH have better (oil)cooling for the diff, transmission and engine as. If you will be going to the track this is almost a must specially with the A10
*DH has the tremec if you go for the M6 which is a great improvement over the MT-82 and also it has shorter gearing. The A10 is tuned different compared to the A10 on the GT
So even if the engine differences are small between the GT and DH there are quite many things that will be very expensive to replicate after the fact, if needed that is!
The gearing alone would almost shift me to the DH. Before at least changing the diff to e.g. a Torsen 3:73 was possible but not sure what is possible now with the closed ECUs as the final drive would have to be updated in the software. The parts alone is like 1500 EUR for such change. But again the Tremec itself has shorter ratios compared to the MT-82, change the trans would be an expensive proposition
so for that 10k difference there is quite a bit of value, depending on how the car will be used
I think it's not worth focussing on the top end power for differences between the cars, as said above it's the other parts that are the key difference. With that said I would be interested in seeing the dyno curve for each model to see what's being delivered where and when in the rev range.
I am undecided, if I buy the GT I would choose Automatic+magneride+vapor blue+red brembos… The DH I would go for ember blue+manual+recaro. Price difference 6-7k.

For me my choice was also GT, auto, magneride or DH blue ember , manual, with Recaros. I ended up putting in an order for both because we only get 1000 DH's so getting one wasn't guaranteed.
It turned out I got an allocation for a DH, so once I knew I could actually get one, I just cancelled my GT order.
