Thinking about adding Kooks long tube headers and getting an E85 tune for my GT PP 6-speed manual and looking for advice. I know E85 is relatively hard to come by so am considering a flex-fuel kit. I’m wondering if the limited HP increase is worth the investment or if I should save up to get a supercharger later. Would a tune with headers on 93 octane give me any discernible increase at all?

Yes, but E85 is going to be significantly more. You can always have two tunes. If you just cannot find E85, and you are about to run out, fill it with 93 and flash the 93 tune.

It might be a little annoying, but there is no real flex fuel for the Mustang. There are tunes that adjust for ethanol content, but they are slow to adjust and you give up a lot that a real E85 tune would give you.

What is the total cost of the headers tune install etc

You could see 60+ hp out of it

When I had my GT350, I had Kooks LT headers and an E85 flex tune. (I had the device that would allow you to run E85 when filled up, or 93 if you ran the fuel down and filled up with it.
That said, I made 503 on 93, and I made 525 on the corn. It was a fun ride.

I have a flex tune on my 2024 GT from Randy Lamace at Knox Tuning in Knoxville TN. Sometimes I run it on 100% 93 a few tanks, sometimes I switch to all E85 which is 71% around here. I don't have to reflash when I switch or even combine. Randy's cell 865-318-eight one eight 3

I wont do flex tunes anymore. But Randy is good people and a killer tuner. If he will do one for you, then you should. He and I have worked together in the past.

I had a Flex tune from Wengerd for a few years on my Mach 1 Auto and now DRP Motorsports for 8 months on my DH manual. I use E70 in summer and 93 in winter. The tune adapts timing /A/F ratios within a few minutes of fill up and the power increase on anything over E50 is noticeable. I have no interest in flashing my ECU multiple times as there can be issues anytime you flash, and I'm not into roulette.
I highly recommend DRP, Car is an absolute beast now, and Ray is very responsive, even a phone call!.
Also, I added Soler perf throttle controller to further get rid of throttle response lag which for me when coming off the clutch in 1st is a big improvement over stock or tune only.
