Driving in sport mode--GT with manual---has less off the line in sport mode vs. normal

In our third week of ownership with just under 900.miles.
We love the car ...one question :
After driving it in both sport and normal modes, sport mode seems to have less power coming off the line making a bit more difficult to launch from a stop. Was expecting to have a more responsive throttle in sport not less.
Steering in sport mode requires a bit more effort--as expected--but the throttle just seems off.
Anyone else experienced this?

That's unusual. I wonder if maybe the traction control is a factor.

As for sport steering, it's supposed to be tighter.

Sport mode is more for taking curves than for straight line acceleration. It tightens the suspension. Traditionally, drag racing prefers a loose front suspension to help weight transfer to the back tires. I cannot swear to that being the situation here, but that would be my suspicion.

Isn't that only if you have the magnaride suspension?

Had mine over a year, love the car. Although I find in any mode, the throttle response is disappointing to say the least. Get the RPS up around 4K and the car will give you whiplash, off the line the throttle by wire lag is bad. I am anxiously awaiting Ford to release the ProCal tune I think will do the trick

I suspect its gear ratio.

When I test drove the manual and auto GTs, I found the autos to have better throttle response. Especially the ones with the 3.55 gears. I did not drive a manual with the 3.73 gears (PP only), But I personally think the manuals need to have 3.73 gears to feel the response. I had 3.73s in my M1 with the Tremec, and the response was excellent.

I have same 24 GT Performance Pack 6sp and my sport mode is way more responsive off the line than normal. Only thing worse than normal is track, track mode is absolute ass off the line.

Yeah track mode isn't for drag racing. I've seen so many Mustang race videos comparing cars, and the asshat behind the wheel is always in Track mode. 🤦‍♂️

Once again, I’m sorry but I gotta say you guys whining about throttle response, linear or non-linear response, sluggish in whatever mode, pedal commanders and so on ad nauseam really crack me up. Whatever happened to just giving it the beans for goodness sake? I’ll 100% guarantee you that if you nail the throttle the engine will give you all it‘s got. Try it and see!

We're just having a conversation and helping each other out with what we know when someone's asks. U didn't need to reply with no actual help or input. Guess u have nothing better to do then whine yourself 😜

So true. That pedal commander shit is just a placebo effect.

Hardly whining. I’m just pointing out that helping someone out with a problem that is not really a problem to start with is not exactly getting us closer to world peace.

Kinda makes one wonder how we ever drove big engine high horsepower cars without computer controls doing our jobs for us. And don’t mention cable operated throttles that connected the accelerator pedal directly to the carburetor.

Oh the humanity!

I noticed that in sports/drag, etc modes, when you take your foot off the gas, the car decelerates, does more engine-braking. And that's kind-of annoying. In normal mode, when you take your foot off the gas, the car decelerates more smoothly. So after trying all different modes, I still prefer the normal one.

I agree with this completely.
