The reason I asked as I have seen numerous articles that state they do. Perhaps they were confusing it with the F150 which I believe has had it since 2021.

Wish the different publications would get their information correct!

I have cylinder deactivation on my Scatpack. In auto mode it kicks in and in Sport or track it does not. Not a big deal but does help my 5k pound car get decent mileage on the highway

Does the Mustang have skip shift when equipped with a manual transmission?

Skip shift is a system in manual transmissions where the vehicle makes you skip 2nd and go from 1st to 3rd under light / medium loads. I know some performance GM cars had it but wasn't sure if the Mustang ever had it.

they are English majors (at best). They barely know what the doodad does vs the thingamajig and that they aren't the same thing.

You can thank your lucky stars you don't have it. It RELIABLY shortens the life of the engine.

and what value is that? I get 21 in my 6mt Scat and I don't even use 6th gear 95% of the time.
With my highway driving I consistently get "by the cars computer" 23 mpg to 23.4 mpg. It quickly drops around town driving

Why does cylinder deactivation lead to decreased life? In my head it might do the opposite
