Does anyone else despise the warning chimes?

Personally I treat the chime as a meet and greet with the car.

Get in, start up, hear the do-do-do sound you are referring to, click seatbelt, drop the convertible roof, put in drive and never think of it again.

Never thought this chime would be a point of conversation. Now if we are talking about programming the car so that at startup without seatbelt the chime would actually be something like "OHHH YEAHHHH said the way the Kool-Aid Man would say, that would be pretty neat. 🤣
The Chimes have been around for many decades now.
If you don’t like the Chimes you may want to consider riding a bike?🚓
It’s probably another Government Regulation?
It is what it is.
Maybe in the future new Vehicles šŸš— may come with Ear Plugs or you will be able to program your own music šŸŽ¶ for the Chimes?

I remember my father had a Ford Pinto, that had the most annoying buzzer that would go off if you didn't have your seat belt on, I'm okay with the chimes.

I'm getting a chime sound while just driving along without any type of warning. Very strange and has done it 4 times in the last 3 days. No idea what that's all about. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

I had that happen to me. It's like a ding, bell, chime type sound. I have no idea why. I was driving on a secondary road at the time with no traffic. Any ideas?

Its usually some kind of event on your phone. Happens quite often to me as my phone is very busy at times.

Could be the GPS indicates that there is a sharp turn ahead. My Nissan had that feature.

I haven't had any in the Mustang, but my F150 had one that drove me bonkers. Took me over a year to figure it out.

Anytime I had a trailer connected, it would get a random single chime while driving down the freeway. Sometimes it would do it once or twice, then not again for a while. Sometimes it would do it what seemed like every damn 20-30 seconds for 5 minutes. And it only did it while towing.

It was nothing more than the chime. No visual indication anywhere to let me know WHY it was doing it.

Then last month, as we trailered the SXS down to TN, I finally figured it out. It was Waze (through Android Auto) letting me know that there was a restricted height overpass up ahead! Every damn overpass in certain areas.

I did have all my trailer info added correctly. The height was set at 8 feet. None of the bridges were anywhere near that low, but it was still notifying me that there was a restricted height bridge ahead.

Is a chime better than a vibration? Lane keep?

it happens every now and then, but my GT will sound off the Pre-'24 mustang and ford chime, like what you would hear in a 2018 F150 for example, instead of the new chime. makes me chuckle every time because that means somewhere in the software that noise file is sitting there being useless. would be cool to be able to select what chime you wanted.

I know i’m just beating a dead horse here, but I wanted to jump in and talk about how much I HATE the warning chimes for ā€œdriver door openā€ ā€œvehicle is onā€ ā€œtransmission not in parkā€ and the worst & loudest one: ā€œrear cross traffic alertā€ … I was at the grocery store and pulled a little too far forward into my parking spot. I hopped out to look at how far I needed to back up in order to get in my own lines (just a few inches). Then when I got back in the car to scoot back: all four warnings started yelling at me like it was the dang car-pocalypse.

The seatbelt chime makes sense, but every single other chime should be optional, and STAY OFF when turned off.

end rant.

I agree x-traffic is loud, annoying and IMO rightly so. As much as it’s annoying, it’s not as annoying as the inevitable lawsuit from a slip and fall huckster in a parking lot soaking me for a few score thousand dollars.

I turned off all but one chime in my ’17 Raptor, the emergency brake on when in drive. It’s rare, but I sometimes use the parking brake on an incline, get in, throw it in park and a cacophony of bells and chimes commence until I go into neutral or disengage the brake. This was bad enough before, but when I upgraded the stereo it became orders of magnitude worse. Now, if I make that mistake the dash warning lights, volume goes to MAX for about 2 seconds, then the chime alerts... It’s a strong disincentive ...

I’m not a big fan of the Do-do-do. I wish it was more do-wop, do-wop, do-wop...

This has gotten to the point that I've heard them in movies or TV shows and cringe like Pavlov's dog.

I have occasionally browsed other forums and they seem to be annoying others enough that they tinker with things with the FORScan tool.

Alas, I have better things to do than spend more than a couple of my remaining brain cells on them. Like post here complaining about them.

Supposedly the do-do-do at startup is a beltminder and can be avoided by fastening the seatbelt prior to starting. Does anyone actually do that?

The door chimes can be turned off on certain vehicles like the F150.

IMO, the main problem is Ford has a Vehicle Harmony division staffed with woke type, tick turds that live for and some how actually get paid to create this noise pollution. (Warning you can't unsee the things on the link above)

Like average Joe car owner would ever take the time to learn and appreciate each tone and countless wasted hours put into creating them? Ummmm, no.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled dude, where is my car programming.
The chimes don’t bother me.
I just ignore them or turn down my hearing aids.
If you put your seat belt on first there is no Chime.
