Yes Magic. Our initial plan was to remove the badges completely, but alas they all had holes behind them.

I thought the topic was DEbadging.

instead it’s REbadging?

and badging to represent a lesser model?

to each their own I guess.

personally, I’d think it a compliment if people were so interested in my car.

but perhaps your motivation is justified. You’re the only one who knows.

as for my little two cents, it feels tragic to me. I’m not a fan of the Dark Horse as a whole, but the branding, badging, nomenclature are fantastic. That’s one car I would never de or rebadge.

On a more serious note, what could you replace the 5.0/Dark Horse badge with that wouldn't be instantly joked or ragged on?
Ford Emblem?
not that i would do it but would not get you made fun of maybe

Just trade the DH in for an ecoboost. Problem solved, no badges, no holes, and you will get a "nice car" once in a while. No one will bother you.
It seems you are just embarrassed to own a DH, so just trade down.

I'm a huge fan of no badges what so ever. So I was pissed when I saw the 5.0 and GT had holes behind them. Briefly thought about replacing them with dark horse badges, but immediately thought of what you said, badging up. No way
I completely agree with you. Not a big fan of over badging a car. Clean and simple.

We don't need no stinking badges

As a tribute to my father who had a '68 GT, I thought about taking the script Mustang emblem and putting it below the 5.0.

Lol, I have no issue with the badge changes. Its your car, just like I changed the rear GT on mine to the running horse (Mustang) and the 5.0s on the side to the Powered by Ford badges. In your case, now you are going to get the "Why didn't you get a Dark Horse" question or the "You should have gotten a Dark Horse" statement from folks, lol....even though when you ask them why...they just give you a blank stare cause they know very little about either.
If you really want to make folks heads explode, throw “307" badges on the side of it.

There’s four badges on the cover. 👍🏻

Ford made a specific point to NOT have any obvious/clearly visible "Ford" badging on the DH.

I used to get a ton of compliments and questions on my 2017 F350 Powerstroke CrewCab 4x4. No way in heck would I ever thought of removing the badges and replacing them with F150 badges.

Does the DH not have the windshield logo center-upper?

I guess nobody in this group had heard of customizing your vehicle before. Too bad. There’s so many options these days. I suppose when I get the DH vinyl airbrushed on the hood, and tint more lights, & drop in a Whipple, y’all’ll hate that too. I love everybody’s Mustang.

Save the passive-aggressive, you got remarkably little negative feedback by online forum standards. I can't imagine a DH drawing such a troublesome amount of attention but will accept it is true in your experience. Trust me, no GT owner is thinking you are a GT wannabe. Now if you had done it the other way around you'd be tarred and feathered I suspect. I'm not sure what you wanted from this but sorry we didn't deliver for you.
