ah…I just go to newest posts and didn’t notice the forum section. Whoops…

But the basic is the same right? Fuse box and ground post?

Correct. See my post earlier, positive on the fuse box and negative onto the post on the strut tower. There is a red tint because of the terminal protector.

Incorrect.

RHD cars have the battery on what is USA drivers' side. So while the fuse box is on the same side for RHD and LHD, the negative ground post is on the other side.

I suggest reading the entire thread and you will find some discussion on this

Has anyone had this warning with a battery tender hooked up to the battery itself?

the “correct” is referring to connecting to the fuse box and ground post, not direct to the battery. Does it really matter what side of the car one refers to?

You reference the fitting of the positive cable to the fuse box and the negative to the ground post.

On right hand drive vehicles, the main negative ground post is on the opposite side of the engine bay, and therefore the opposite side to the fuse box. There is a negative ground post for the fuse box, but it's obscured by the strut tower brace, and if you have the Ford Performance Oil Catch Can, that post is used to mount a bracket and therefore unusable for this role.

Is there a spot on the same side as the battery that I can safely use for negative?

Going away for 1 month and using a borrowed tender that doesn't have the reach required to connect to the negative stud near the fuse box.

I just used the negative charging stud, but I'm sure there will be something closer to the battery as well.
