Was wondering if anybody else had tried what I want to do.

I already tested out FORScan, coding in the continuous gear display as well as changing L to M mode (even though my car doesn't have paddles). It worked flawlessly, but now I really want to get a carbon fiber, aftermarket steering wheel that has nice carbon fiber/magnetic paddles.

Has anyone gotten an aftermarket wheel with paddles and used it to swap on their non-HPP EcoBoost?

I've looked into the Dark Horse one, and the difference seems to be that the Dark Horse one includes all the back trim pieces (pre-drilled holes for the paddles), while aftermarket wheels use the OEM back trim piece where the paddles are supposed to attach.

I also tried emailing one company and they basically told me to figure it out myself lol

Only other work around I could think of is using another wheel with paddle shifters as a "donor" wheel and then buying a carbon fiber wheel separately.
Yes u can get gt base steering wheel with paddle shifters probably cheapest option on ebay, and then send it to after market company and they can make it carbon fiber i guess

Does anyone know if this is possible on a 2025 ecoboost? I know they discontinued the high performance packages for the 2025 lineup, but I was wondering if it’s still possible.
U can always try to change options in forscan and see if that works, then maybe paddle shifters would work too

I wish Ford got their tripe together and offered stand alone options. Especially paddle shifters. What good is a A10 without them? On the straight away fine, but when it comes to corners, and canyons, forget it. This is the main reason I stick with the MT-82.

So today I tried the FORScan to see if I can change the values, and the 2025 model does indeed allow for M mode to be displayed and have shifting enabled. So now it’s just a matter of getting a steering wheel with paddle shifters to see if it actually works.

The only thing I couldn’t get to work was having the gears display on my screen. I tried everything and nothing popped up :/

I followed that guide but had no luck. But now looking at it again it says to change a letter value. I think that’s where I may have done it wrong. It’s my first time using FORScan so I’m still a bit new to this lol.

For the continuous gear display. It didn’t let me change any values it just “enable” or “disable” so I don’t know if I was just in the wrong area? Because I hit enable and made sure all the previous steps were right. No gears popped up for me when I shifted it to drive.

also idk if it’s also because I didn’t drive at all. I just shifted it to D to see if anything popped up.

well i know that you can change the actual number values in the detailed view where u can see the code. simply enabling and disabling settings is a different view mode im pretty sure

Update: So after messing around a bit. It seems that the gears only display if the car is set to sport mode. All other modes don’t display the gears. As for manual mode I’m assuming it won’t show them until I get the paddle shifters installed??

Hi all,

new to the forum. I am getting a S650 Ecoboost soon. It was a pain to find one with the paddles so I gave up. The more excited I am about this Mod!

Couple of questions if I may

1. I have a bluetooth OBD ELM adapter. Has anybody ever tried this with Forscan?
2. I currently don't have a windows PC anymore. Again anybody ever tried with parallels etc. on a mac to run Forscan?

Super excited to get my hands on the car. Just have to find a steering wheel with paddle shifter to buy.

Thanks!

I tried to use parallels (might have been some other windows emulator) on my MacBook Air M3, and there was a problem getting the cable to detect the car. I have this old Dell laptop that I tried to use instead and it worked instantly, so be wary. I was using like a $25 cable off Amazon (OBD to USB) and it worked perfectly fine.

I don't know for sure about parallels, but I have an Intel-based MacBook Air and used Boot Camp to partition the hard drive for Windows alongside Mac OS and that did work for me with ForScan, no issues.

Good info. I have an older MBP Intel based. Will give that a try once I have the car.
Yes from what I have seen, the non Apple silicone MacBooks (so Intel Based), since they can run Windows BootCamp, they are able to run ForScan
