So I need y'all's help please. I went to beat a light and there was a dip in the intersection. As I went over it I knew I messed up and heard a clunk in the rear passenger area. I got home and went under the car and found no scrapes or damage that I could see. I assuming I hit the bump stop on the shock. What are some of the signs I messed something up? Car drove normal after the fact. Everything is stock btw. Thanks!

Bump stops are there for just that occurrence. It must have been a hell of a bump.
If there's no sign of scraping, and the shocks aren't leaking, I wouldn't worry too much.

I would give it another good look - No evidence of scrapes etc. combined with no changes in handling = Carry on......

I totally understand what your saying. I think very similarly with things like this. So I would go with your instincts on this, was this extremely hard hit or did it maybe just sound bad? Because most likely it just sounded bad. So what i would do is if it keeps bothering you that you might have bent or broke something take it in to get alignment checked and a look over. To me that is worth the price of admission if it gives you peace of mind. Most likely its just fine.most cars are pretty strong and can handle probably more than we think. Goodluck šŸ».

I did what sounds like the exact same thing you did. Turns out, after doing that, every time I would make a turn, particularly at slow speeds, I would hear a popping noise. Recently, after getting my transmission replaced, the service tech found I had two leaking rear shock absorbers….. those were replaced as well.

Keep an eye on those!

Hitting the bump stops shows how well suspension works. How these boi racers tolerate riding on the stops all the time beats me.
No brain, no pain I guess.
