Today I was contacted by my dealer about a 2023 Mustang Mach 1 in FJG with auto and heated/cooled seats. The car looks just like mine with the smaller wheels/tire on it from mine I owned a few years ago.

I had to decline because I am honestly just not that interested in the old interior dash configuration. The car had 644 miles on it

If the Mach isn't worth more than the GT right now, it will be in a couple years. You say you already had a Mach 1?

Where I live, NY, the Mach is selling in the low $60's.. And in fact many used cars are selling for close to the MSRP of a new Mustang.
Crazy times.

Does this mean the friday repair didn’t turn out?

They are waiting on a few parts. I had told them I did not want to see any sort of scratches on the plastic radiator cover or any of the push button pins that install it. I wanted as new from factory. It wasn't but the parts should be here Monday.

Dealer is still trying to make good of finding me a replacement in their inventory of something either new or acceptable that hasn't had a major repair like replacing the engine. Since I had already owned a Mach 1 in FJG they thought it was a good option with only 644 miles

Sorry if I missed it, what was the problem? I see you're getting a whole engine swap, so guessing its more serious than a leaky gasket or o-ring.

Blue smoke is burning oil, sometimes from a bad gasket, piston rings, valve seals, or worse. White smoke is typically a head gasket leaking coolant into the cylinder turning it into steam.

Overuse of Viagra may cause steam to look like blue smoke. It is known.

Valve stem seals under the head (this was the valve issues that delayed some of the V8 cars first produced

And you'd turn another one down for the car that has now been apart because of the "old interior dash configuration"?

Yikes. To each their own, I guess. :giggle:
Absolutely, I’m not gonna take a car that I’m bored with the interior. I’ve already owned a 2015 Limited Edition, 2018 GT, 2020 GT500 and 2021 Mach1. I’m bored with the S550 interior. Same shit different S550 Mustang.

My money my decision. Ford isn’t buying the car back and if the repairs are done correctly and no additional issues I could keep it with the extended warranty they are offering me for 7yrs/100,000 mile $0 deductible for my troubles. I also have the option of the dealer taking this one back, let them sell it and walk away and maybe get another next year.

I get it. You want the new design and that's fine. Personally, I would not accept an engine swap on a brand new car. It will never be the same as a factory installed engine, despite the defective engine.. Clips, mounts for cables, routing of cables, the little things will be missed for certain. Especially on a new design which the techs are not familiar with. On the positive side, it seems like you have a dealer who is willing to work with you which is fantastic.. If it all works out, plug them on social media because a fair dealer is a gem and rarely found although they are out there... Best wishes!

Trust me, I plug them by sending people that ask me who I get my cars from. I have received several referral checks 🤑
