Wondering which dash cam to get. Seems like adding one is no brainer since we have the USB behind the rearview mirror. Also mostly care for a front dash cam, but wondering if anyone has installed a rear one as well and how difficult that was.

I use the viofo A229 Pro, but that's a higher end model so if your on a budget it might be a bit too much. As far as the rear camera goes it's not hard at all, it's just double side clear adhesive to put it on the rear window and a long cable to run and plug into the front cam, some will try and tuck it above the headliner, but I'm lazy so just ran it between my passenger seat and console.

After some crazy lady try to run me off the road, I got a Viofo A229 Pro with a hardwire kit. Ran the rear view camera wires thru the roof. Install was very simple. I'm happy with my purchase quality is decent. And it has parking mode which is nice incase something happens to my car when I'm away.

do you guys mind sharing pics? I don't want something too bulky. I'm also not on a budget and willing to spend $ for something good.

This is my view from.where I sit in the car. Doesn't change my visibility at all.

Front cam is tucked under the rearview where it curves around. I barely can see it when I'm driving and the wires are tucked behind and thru the headliner. Also can barely see the rearview camera in the rearview mirror when driving. Very clean looking. Added 2 pictures from the cams too.

Looks nice. How did you put it though the roof panel?

And does this monitor your car while it's parked and record and notify if something happens to your car while you're away?

I used fish tape to run the wires for the rear view camera. Front camera wires tucked up in-between the windshield/roof panel then down the pillar. I don't think it notifies you when something happens in parking mode. Their App is kind of lack luster and voice control never works for me.

I got this one at the recommendation of a user at Ford Raptor Forum

Video is really good, audio is average with windows up, with windows down audio is below average. Here’s a screen shot of some impatient @sshole who almost t-boned us

I am turning left, as is the oncoming pickup. Mr. Impatient went right into the turn only lane --AT SPEED-- which is signed 65. Not shown, but the camera shows date, time, gps coordinates and speed (optional).

I saw this guy behind the pickup and was still pretty new to the car so I didn’t just gas it and try to make the turn anyway.
This does have the optional monitor kit available, but I’ve not installed it.

Just for @Gregs24: good thing I didn’t have auto stop start :p

I see several replies that people tucked wires in the headliner. Does anyone have a camera installed on a convertible? How did you run your power cable?

I've run the A129 Pro Duo 4K in my F150 for almost 2.5 years now. It's been great. Want to put the A229 Pro in the DH.

P.S. - Get a fish tape and run that cable under the headliner! Easy peasy.

On a budget, get one of these:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08LZJ8GMH

Mine saved me during a car accident dispute on my old car. Really solid cam--just continuously records when the car turns on. I got a 2 gig memory card for it. Other cams always complained about the memory card not being formatted, or out of space, not this one. And since I don't have a USB plug where the mirror is, I just ran the cable around the windshield trim. It is very easy to do without taking anything off. The plastic trim can just be pulled back, and the cable can be tucked under it, so it will hold it on its own. Eventually maybe I'll get one of those cable holder adhesive tabs to run the cable, but for now there's no need.
