Here is what the dealer printed out for me. The body shop has to do the work. I hope they paint over the mess this sealant leaves. There were another 7 pages of instructions for testing the fix.

OMG. What an ugly snot wad of sealant. Is that stuff paintable. Won’t be able to open the hood at shows after the slobber job.

Ok I’m coming back down now. I didn’t realize the ugly snot globs would be hidden by the cowlings

Mine was completed as scheduled. No sign of any leak before the new sealant added nor afterwards.
Dealer told me 10/21 recall on hold. Call back 11/1. I smellđź’©.

Brought it today for the recall. Was informed that "At this time the recall has been paused as the solution is not working."
Just spoke with my dealer's Service Dept about this, as I have a 1400 hr inspection appointment tomorrow (10/29/25). They have no info about any pause/stop on this recall.

Like @Doug Watson --my GT hasn't leaked a drop in 18 months 👍, so I'm going to tell them we're calling it good with the inspection; no need for the "fix".

They won't remove the recall status though.

Not disagreeing with your decision but Ford will wear you out with recall notices if your dealer doesn't turn it in as done. Someone helped me total a past GT and I got the airbag recall notice regularly for MANY years. It did no good to call Ford and ask them to stop. Just FYI, my experience.

You will not see it after , the sealant is under the cowl panels. Don't worry about it. Had mine done you cant tell the difference. Also you can try to paint it but it probably won't stick properly..

I checked mine and no water intrusion after 18 months.
How did you check for the water intrusion? If you don’t mind sharing, I would like to check mine as well as I am due to this recall I am hesitating to proceed with yet…

Just pull the passenger side kick panel that's where the BCM is located.

One other thing to note is they are pulling up the windshield to re caulk it.
That is the main problem I have with it…but the half ass look of how the sealant is applied and not being painted really goes against my work ethic/ integrity!!

I hear you and that's why I'm not having this done. I will keep an eye on it and thinking of a better solution to protecting the BCM. Ford just comes up with these BS solutions without thinking about there customers. CHEAP AS POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS.

I 100% understand your feelings but we did buy a Ford. I thought about that kind of thing before I bought it and, sure enough, here we are dealing with this kind of slop. Thank you, Ford and UAW. Shameful is what it is....period.
