I followed overwhelming advice and replaced my 2025 GT's B&O sub woofer with the Pioneer TS-A250D4 10". I applied polyester in the box and it's still underwhelming. Perhaps the lack of punch is because the sensitivity is 74dB? It's 4 ohm, and so does anyone advise against wiring the driver to become 2 ohms? It's an easy procedure. That would increase power draw and make it louder. Otherwise I need a new sub, 4 ohm, with way more punch for under $100-200.

When I replaced my sub, I did not get a big difference at all, but for some reason, all the other speakers sounded better, and the door woofers had much more punch.

I would advise against trying to drive a lower impedance load with the factory amp... may not be up to the task and could end poorly.

I might add I contacted Crutchfield. They insist B&O system doesn't have any power to run the Pioneer I installed.

Nope, it sure doesn’t. The sub is the only speaker behind us for the most part, so in the end, I just set the stereo to Surround and place the balance right where the shifter is. I also replaced the center speaker and for some reason it sounds decent enough.

With the exhaust making the best music, I usually don’t turn the stereo up much at all anyway.
