Area by right knee/leg gets Hot

I notice from time to time that the area where my right knee/leg rests against when driving (by the auto trans shifter) gets quite hot when driving sometimes. Has anyone noticed that?

yep. that's right where the transmission is, the only thing separating you and it is some sheet metal, fabric, and that knee cover on the side of the console. the cover actually has a magnet that sticks right to the body. i think that heat combined with usual wireless charging heat is why the S650 wireless charger heats up phones so fast

In close proximity to this 'spot' is mounted the GT's left-side catalytic convertor. Thus the added heat load doesn't surprise me a bit. On the Eco-Boost, the cat is further forward and on the right so the heat is not as noticeable.

I've put over 5,000 miles on my GT Premium Vert and I've never noticed that spot getting hot. That includes two 7-8 hour drives only stopping for gas. Glenn

That makes a ton of sense, wow I feel like an idiot asking that question now lol
